5. If people had to be registered members for, say, two weeks

before being allowed to post replies and a month before being allowed to start threads, it would discourage a lot of the morons. Most are obviously into immediate gratification.

18. They did that the other night
and it helped a lot. I'm sure they'll do it again, when needed.

In the meantime, it's up to us to help keep the place cleaned up. The real jerks don't last long.

The ones that bug me the most are the 'oh, Kerry can't possibly win' types. I really do think they are in the wrong forum.

6. There are Freeper Sleeper Cells here, too!
Anybody else seen new members racking up 200+ posts in a couple of days? You see what seems an inordinate amount of posts by the same person in a thread, stopping just shy of starting a flame war, stopping just short of personal attack--being oh so careful not to break the letter of the Rules.

They're heeeeeeeeeeere.

23. places like the Louisiana forum....

where a nasty post immediately popped up on in the online WALL STREET JOURNAL, used to PROVE that REAL DUers are bad people...

and then Kerry supporters were directed to the WRONG location for a Kerry meet-up...and the Kerry office address was posted, so freetards can throw bricks into the windows, and harrass Kerry volunteers (which actually was done)....and then a second time, directed Kerry volunteers to the WRONG date for a rally, tried to encourage Kerry volunteers to illegally register voters while campaigning for Kerry...

hard to smoke that freetard out...knows the rules, is real experienced, and is very damaging to this board and the Kerry effort...whines a LOT to moderators, and ALWAYS pulls a bushie...claims ignorance...

Is it someone who doesn't absolutely agree with everything you do and might actually question the position of the Democratic candidate for President? Just curious.

12. a freeper sleeper writes 'little' replies until they get to their magic
number of 1000...there's a series of steps posted on free republic telling the "morans" how to get on the DU board and get to 1000 before they LET US HAVE IT....

you'll often see someone with just over 1000 posts start writing insane freeper-attacks against us...but prior to that, they tried real hard to stay silent and just make short little remarks to create a higher number of posts (mostly they don't even make it to 1000 because they are too stupid to follow the directions, have terrible tempers, and use foul language frequently and can't spell)...also, as sleeper freepers begin posting, they'll also start complaining a LOT about other peoples posts, hitting the alert button, and then complaining that the moderator didn't delete the post they found offensive....they KNOW one or two rules and quote those all the time...

recently, they all post the same lines, their oders for the day....lately, the rovian talking points for chat boards include:

1. Kerry isn't winning, look at the polls...he's lost it already...and I like Kerry...

2. Kerry is being led by Mary Beth/his staff in the wrong direction. I like Kerry, and have to help Kerry, because he's being led in the wrong direction.

3. I like Kerry. but he's got to get over Vietnam. Kerry's talk of Vietnam isn't helping the campaign...

4. I like Kerry. Kerry's got to go negative, attack the Swift Boat Veterans..it's the only way he can win....

5. Kerry must open up his records, tell the truth. Kerry must PROVE to us that he served honorably, because his medals are questionable. and, I like Kerry.

15. Thank you for a rational reply.
However you will catch a lot of non-Freeper folks in that net. Several people on this board would tel you that I'm a closet Freeper even though nothing could be farther from the truth...well, except saying that Dubya is a good President.

My typing skill suck and I have been known to make really bad typing /spelling errors. Particualrly when I'm confronted by a particularly dense zelot. My lack of typing skills is in direct proportion to the level of irritation I'm feeling at the moment. Or the level of Guninness/Caffine in my blood stream.

Remember too that there are a lot of good Democrats who honestly believe that Kerry wasn't the best choice for President we could have put forward. To address your points specifically...

1. Most of us know this is crap. But look at people you know are "real" and I'm sure you've seen the "chicken little" effect at work. In the absence of rational logical thought you'll get these reactions. We have a lot of emotinal people on this board.

2. He might be being led in the wrong direction...particularly if you believe he isn't the best choice we had.

3. Since I've heard this comment outside of this board, and from people I know don't like Bush it's a valid point. I've heard it said about both candidates actually. It really isn't an issue. It's a distractor. I'd prefer they both focused on real isues. However in todays politics it ain't gonna happen.

4. I disagree with this one. The only road to follow is the high road. You can still attack and stay on the high road. I think a far better course would be to bring out the truth behind their lies. Like pointing out Cheany's voting record and support of the very bills they are slamming Kerry for. Just my opinion though. I also think that MoveOn and SBVfT would be better advised to do the same thing.

5. On this point I agree. Fortunately he has already done this, or had it done for him. Unlike his opponent. Still, it's a non-issue.

Is it possible we have 1000 post trolls out there? Of course. I guarentee there are some. However, jsut because someone has a concern, thinks we are heading wrong, or disagrees with the masses on here does not make them a Freeper. It makes them an American.

21. With just two more month to go
it is time to put away your doubts and start working in a positive direction.

It is true, that Kerry was not a lot of folks first choice, but right now he is the only choice.

We need to trust, that Kerry is a skilled and brilliant politician. He knows more about this misadmininistration, than most of us and this is why Bush is so scared of him, and will do everything he can to prevent Kerry from becoming president.

This is why, at this point, we have to fully support Kerry . It's the only way we can win.

22. By voicing our concerns now...
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 07:39 AM by DarkPhenyx
...we are attempting to work in a positive direction. I feel we are far better served by accepting that he isn't a perfect fit than by trying to make him out to be "the Perfect President". The Bush team did that back in 2000. It's going to cost them on '04. We need to keep that in mind. If we build the expectations up too high then even failing on a few small things, which Kerry will just like every President does, they will seem much bigger than they really are.

Long term views and long term goals. Winning the election is only the begining people. We owe it to everyone, not just America but the entire planet, to be honest about our candidate.

27. now is NOT the time to voice your CONCERNS....if you had so many
concerns, you would have gotten up off the couch, rolled up your sleeves, and gone to Kerry HQ to volunteer over 6 months ago....

now it the final race to the finish....

and you may be surprised to find out that Kerry and his volunteers have ALWAYS been honest about our candidate...unlike your low expectations with bush*....

your tiny inuendos are making me sick....

Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 08:26 AM by DoYouEverWonder
we will have four years to criticize and support any and/or all of his policies and decisions.

However, right now we have an election to win. That is much more important.

25. Kerry leads his campaign...he's is NOT being led...that's a rovian
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 08:17 AM by amen1234
talking point to make Kerry look weak....rove thinks Kerry is being puppeted like bush*, at least he wants to portray that..."being led by others" is standard rove attack on Kerry...

I have volunteered at Kerry's DC headquarters since Christmas time....and if you were helping there, you'd know that KERRY RUNS THE WHOLE SHOW....Kerry is NOT being led by others....I have met both Kerry and Edwards at the HQ several times, and Kerry runs meetings often by computer conference and phone or in person...there's not a day goes by without Kerry commanding, by phone, fax and email...wherever he is...Kerry is OUR Commander-in-Chief....he's leading OUR whole country to VICTORY in November...

http:/www.MoveOn.org
is really doing an outstanding job....their work is truly amazing and I am very impressed....bush* is just trying to lump his untruthful smear attacks with the TRUTHFUL and well-researched MoveOn effort, powered by WE THE PEOPLE....there is NO comparision...the 'well, these 527's are all the same' is just another rovian talking point to diss THE TRUTH ABOUT BUSH*...

if you look at the MoveOn site, you'll notice that there are actually THREE differently structured organizations:

1. MoveOn.org is NOT a 527 organization, as rove claims....it's a 501(c)(4) organization....just a click of a mouse would alert rove to his own lies....

2. MoveOn PAC is a Federal PAC

3. MoveOn.org Voter Fund actually is a 527 organization.

lastly, your reply to me assumes that those are MY talking points, when I told you that those are "rovian talking points of the day"....your agreement with the "rovian talking points" seems quite clear....

They are boosted by the bogus polls that are out. The hate filled convention rallied them and they are feeling their oats again.

Well, the taller they stand, the harder they will fall.
