E-mail to my Rep. re: Bachmann

Greetings Congressman ,

I am contacting you due to the disturbing comments made by Minnesota Congressperson Michelle Bachman. She made incendiary comments regarding people that have anti-American views and the desire to have some sort of oversight on such people. She seems to draw parallels between "liberals", "leftists", and anti-American people. This smacks of McCarthyism, and is not to be tolerated. It is my opinion that she should be censured, to send a message to those who wish to continue to attempt to silence progressive Democratic voices. I realize that is a difficult process, requiring many votes to achieve a censure, but I feel this type of language must not be left unchallenged. Ms. Bachmann will more than likely be ousted November 4th by the voters of MN- CD6, but this is more a matter of censuring dangerous, freedom-damaging thinking than it is condemning the individual. I fully understand there are many large problems facing all of us, and that this could be looked at as a drop in the bucket, but I wanted to bring this ugly behavior to your attention. Our freedom is much larger and more important than hateful thoughts from an irresponsible legislator. Thank you for reading my thoughts, and for doing a fine job representing CD-3.

5. I wish I lived in that district for two reasons.

1. I'd be near my folks and my sister
2. I could vote against Michele Bachmann

It's hard having her as a rep, it's not even close to having intelligent representation.

3. I called and left a message at her office, i told her i donated to her opponent

and i told her my name was "Kim the Leftist who loves America" and i also used my last name.

Soon after the Hardball interview, I called and got right through. I asked to leave a message with Senator McCarthy. :evilgrin:

When she nervously repeated that it was Representative Bachmann's office, I said that I was sorry for the mistake, but could have sworn that I was listening to McCarthy during Bachmann's interview on Hardball.

I then asked her if Bachmann was serious about starting up another Committee on Un-American Activities. Her: "Ummm, how can I help you?"

I reiterated that what I had just heard on Hardball sounded as if Bachmann was trying to repeat one of the ugliest parts of American history, and although I didn't live in her district, Bachmann's anti-American statements had motivated me to donate to her opponent.

Before I hung up, I predicted that her boss had just committed political suicide, and suggested that she (the office staffer) brush up on her resume. I sure hope she took my advice.


And damn, it was the best three minutes of my day today. :evilgrin:
