McCain treats his mother like a potted plant!

Have you noticed that McCain's 96 year old mother, who always looks sprightly, as far as her physical condition is concerned, never speaks? She stands on the platform with her son and daughter-in-law and the others. Nobody ever puts an arm around her, or speaks to her or even looks at her so far as I have seen.
It's as if she's not even there. She might as well be a stage prop. I almost feel sorry for her.
