IF Powell does endorse Obama, it's coming at the perfect time.
Because it will dwarf any coverage Palin might receive from her SNL skit.

2. On top of that, it would neutralize any potential National Security Event
I hope he does it. He simply has not demonstrated that level of courage in the past, though.

3. I feel like
he'll say "nice things", but stop short of an endorsement. Whatever.

4. AGREED-but Powell is a lifelong Republican- I'm cautiously optimistic
An Obama endorsement from Powell would help us more than a McCain endorsement would hurt us.

5. he opposed invasion. opposed gitmo. opposed torture. wants intel investigation. hates neocons. etc
he tried to keep us from invading iraq, in spite of how people seem to think he lead it.

once he quit the bush admin, he called for an investigation into the management of WMD intel.

he criticized the bush handling of the war.

he opposed gitmo and torture.

he defends obama on his position on diplomacy.

he defends obama on the "experience" issue.

he calls neocons "f***cking crazies."

he criticized bush on katrina.

he supports affirmative action.

he is pro-choice

he has done a lot of great philanthropy and service stuff since retiring.

for a republican, that's a lot better than some democrats.
