8. As a Penn State Alum, let me apologize for the idiocy
I would say that not many people came by to see him - only the brainwashed. Game days are sacred at Penn State - we have never taken kindly to other people riding on its coattails, even in the worst of times.

Beyond that - Joe Paterno has been a strong Republican his entire life and has donated handily to the party. However, this year he has given money to Barack Obama and has said in his own Paterno-like way that he wants Obama to win.

That carries more weight than Todd could ever muster in this or any lifetime.
