The climb back for this country is going to hard...

For 40 years, since 1968, this country has been divided almost as severely as the divide that occurred during the Civil War.

I have been politically active for almost that whole time. Marching in protest or working on campaigns or writing about politics and even running for office a few times.

I honestly have never been as optimistic about the future as I am now. Obama is a transcending figure. A man who is strong enough to both take the slings and arrows that will surely come and to deflect the anger that is bound to come his way.

He is smart yet likable, accomplished but really one of us. He has no hidden agenda.

I truly think he was called to this mission he is on.

I don't usually cotton to religion but there is something about this man and his mission that makes me feel good about the future.
