My interesting observation at a University today

I returned to my college this weekend for the annual Homecoming festivities.

This is a modest Division II school in Missouri in a modest size community. The festivities include many events put on by the students to entertain the alumni leading up to the football game.

One event includes a Homecoming Parade much like the one you see on Animal House but never quites become the chaos as the movie. Being an election year all the candidates and political clubs have entries in the parade. Congressmen, State offices and local even the coroner has an entry.

Two contrasting organizations were in the parade, the College Republicans then the College Democrats. When the Republicans went past I looked and looked for anything they might say about McCain and or Palin. NOTHING, not even a bumper sticker on the vehicle.

Along come the College Democrats and they had dozens of students passing out buttons, bumper stickers, signs and anything Obama. The pickup truck they had entered had a nicely done signboard in the back that said the Power of 'O'

I read that as a very positive sign for Obama coming from this University.


BTW: the team kicked butt in the football game. Now I have a long drive home.

Plan on sleeping until about 4:00 AM then heading out.
