1. Why is it?
That it is always the woman who catches the blame?

4. Many other campaign managers have been dumped in the past
-she's no different or better than anyone else. You don't want preferential treatment for her because she's a female, do you? If you screw up - you're out, regardless of your sex.

7. It isn't about "Shrub lies"
We all knew Shrub was going to lie, because that's in his nature and that how he's run every campaign he's ever been in. Kerry's campaign manager's job is to best deal with Shrub, such as he is. And the fact is that she ain't doing that great a job.

8. I agree.
Kerry doesn't need people telling him to just let things blow over, he needs talented aggressive people who want to hit back hard. We've got enough dirt on Bush* to build a mountain, it's about time some of that started hitting TV screens across America.

15. I have worked in a
few campaigns in the past and it is not the campaign manager who makes major decisions - if that were true then I would vote for them instead of the candidate. Kerry is calling his own shots and I think we should let our swift boat hero show what he is made of. Trust him - he knows what he is doing.

16. There were reports that Kerry was counseled into letting the smears
blow over when he wanted to be more aggressive. Fundamentally it is his decision, but with this being his first national election he's dependent on good advice. I suppose the reports could be false, but if they are not I hope people advising Kerry to hold back will have less sway on him now.

12. I agree....
The GOP just finished their convention, which was a stinkbomb of epic proportions...they couldn't come up with a single reason why anyone should vote FOR a Republican...their negative ad campaign has rebounded against them....their candidates can't appear except before tiny clots of supporters who sign written loyalty oaths....they've openly written off Illinois...

And some people here want to pretend it's OUR campaign that's in trouble.

2. I think she should be Fired...
She completely under-estimated the impact of the Swift-Boat ads and Kerry has taken a huge hit as we enter the post-convention part of the campaign. We can't afford another mistake.

5. If she screwed up his campaign - she's not "mine" - I want to win
this election.

11. The problem is not with the campaign manager, or...
with the campaign staff, and countless volunteers. The problem is with the muddled message the candidate is putting out.

Kerry has given the word "nuance" a bad name. When it comes to the message, the rule should be to "Keep It Simple, Stupid!"

13. Changes at this time
would be disasterous. The media would pick it up and take the attention off John Kerry and John Edwards just when we finally have it on them.
