Josh Marshall has a scoop on internals from Dem/Rep camps
A note on polls: as of the day after the convention I'm told by what I believe to be reliable sources that the internal polls of both campaigns had President Bush up roughly four points on John Kerry.

Getting straight-up info on what each campaigns' own polls are telling them is inherently difficult. And I want to make clear that I have not seen the data with my own eyes. But I have heard this from sources (for each side) which I believe to be reliable. And I'm passing the information on on that caveat-ed basis.

1. I was just getting ready to pose that question?
What do the internal polls suggest? ANd it appears that they are much closer than those of TIME or Newsweek... This info needs to be in the public domain.

6. Four points is NOTHING...
...when you consider that, in every presidential election in the past few decades, the incumbent (even those who went on to easy wins) has lost at least four points from the post-convention polls by the end of the race.

In other words, a Bush four-point lead at this time means the election, for all intents and purposes, is a TIE. Now it's our turn to win it!

7. That sounds like it's probably accurate
and overcomeable by Kerry.
