Here we go...Osama "about to be captured"
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040904/D84T2OUO0.html

I'm guessing this will "happen" near the first debate at the end of this month or the second debate in October...

1. Here's what the Talking Point has to be re: Osama
Kerry has to start saying NOW (pre-capture) that finding Osama is not a victory for *, that even if Bush manages to capture Osama, he has not made us safer beause of the thousands of new al Qaeda members mobilized by our invsion of Iraq, capturing Osama dosn't mean the war in Iraq was justified, etc.

4. Agree 100%
at one time, like 2001, capturing Osama may have made a difference in curtailing al Qaeda, but not now. I've heard too many pundits say that the organization has metamorphasized into a multi-headed organization. It is hatred of Amreica and the notion that the US is out to destroy Islam (bolstered by uttereances by Gn. Boykin and Rev. Graham the younger) that is keeping al Qaeda going much more than Osama bin Laden.

11. It is American foreign policy
that is keeping al Qaeda going.

9. AQ is not all about Osama any longer
Even if * can trot out Osamam's decomposed body next month all it shows is the ineptitude of the US and its allies to have nabbed him when it mattered. It's a moot point now. AQ has expanded beyond our means of containing it and this failed Iraq mess only bolstered their numbers. Thanks, *, for adding to the ranks of terrorists.

13. Bill Maher said it best on Real Time
Said catching Bin Ladin now means nothing. Paraphrasing here - "It's like implying that McDonald's should have closed down after Ray Kroc's death - at this point it doesn't matter if we get OBL or not - the franchises are up and running." Business will go on.

2. Dean already answered this when he said we are not safer because
Saddaam was found...

Bush has stirred up so much hate around the world....it will not matter that he finds these guys ....his methods have stirred up hate in this country......I am sure that HATE is much more in countries where he is bombing them into submission and back to the dark ages...

Ruining their infrastructure. Killing their water sources. Destroying their religious places. Killing men women and children. Bombing weddings.

Bush has created hundreds more osama's and sadaams by this point.....

5. Why couldn't...
We voters get together and hand Bush over to Osamma? In my mind it would solve about 99% of the problems bush has gotten us into to.

If Osamma would televise what he then did to bush, he would make a fortune!

6. I don't think that they have him in captivity
The fact is that the Bush administration is just plain aweful at keeping scandals covered up. If they couldn't keep cameras out of Abu-Ghreib then they sure as hell can't keep this under wraps.

7. Is Osma's capture going to restore the lives of 1000 soldiers in Iraq?
Will Osma's capture bring back 3000 people who died on 9/11? I'll be happy that Osama is captured, but I don't see this as a win for any standing President, I just see it as an end to a very evil man's agenda. It shouldn't popularize any person, Osama has a lot of blood on his hands, as does Bush, so no, I don't see this as anything but a good thing for the world, not Bush. It's too bad though, if Bush would have stayed on the right course and kept all the soldiers in Afghanistan, Osama would have been caught by now and we could have been well on our way to eradicating terror. The Spain bombing may not have occurred and recently Russia's horrible terror.

12. Well I think that it's an essential part of the war on terror
We do need to capture the people who are at least partly responsible for the 9/11 attacks. The other part of winning the war on terror, is outsting our idiot in chief.

8. Does Pakistan like Bush?
The reason I ask is that if bin Laden is captured, likely it would be by Pakistani troops. I do feel that Pakistan is a reluctant participant in Bush's 'war on terra'. If the election hinges on bin Laden's capture, would Pakistan really be motivated to speed up bin Laden's capture?

There's a lot of 'if's' here. Personally, I'd love it if OBL was captured by French troops. That would be funny.

10. All of the forced and coereced members of the coalition...
Are unhappy about the WOT.

Not a good thing being a small powerless country, when the large, nasty one comes around.

17. Yeah, but unfortunately I doubt that
anybody besides "The Daily Show" audience will see that video when (if) Osama bin Laden is captured.

16. It will happen late on Saturday or early Sunday Morning
Just in time for the Sunday talk shows and the pulpit!
From the article:
What I tell people, I would be surprised but not necessarily shocked if we wake up tomorrow and he's been caught along with all his lieutenants.
The article was dated Saturday Sept 4th.
