The ABB Vote
yeah, one more thread from yet one more armchair
voter.

One half of the country will not vote for Bush.

Fewer than half will not vote for a Democrat whoever it is.

Some who voted for Bush last time won't this time and
may sit on their vote.

Some Greens and Indies who voted for Nader won't this time.

Anyone who voted for Pat Buchanan last time doesn't agree
the neo-con empire building agenda and won't vote for Bush.

The conclusion is that Gore won last time with more
votes that went counted and uncounted. Those voters
won't vote for Bush. More Republicans, Greens and Indies
won't vote for Bush this time. If the voters who voted
for Gore get out again, Kerry/Edwards win.

Frankly the election is less about Kerry and more about
getting Bush out. The country really doesn't have
a choice this year...the goal is to remove Bush Inc.
and all the little neo-cons from policy making.
It's a bonus that Kerry and Edwards are also smart,
disciplined, and experienced.

Just my opinion. I am not a Dem Strategist.

1. I in fact do beleive in John Kerry...
He is a rare individual, who can relate to a person on their own level and raise that person up. John Kerry will bring to the presidency someof the greatness that made him the best Senator that senate has ever seen.

His record stands out amongst the lesser-senators like a searchlight.

2. John Kerry is a good man but that's not my point
My point is that the motivation this election
is remove Bush. Kerry frankly can cross-dress
and people will still vote for him and not
for Bush.

Republicans will stay home if they don't a choice.
It will hurt Republicans more than Democrats.

3. Almost ABB before but now pro-Kerry
I don't know why all the media says people would like to have a beer with Bush, I've watched John Kerry on Larry King and I think he would be much better guy to have a beer with.

First the beer is likely to be better quality. Also can you imagine how boring Bush would be after the first 5 minutes or until he got drunk...

I think Kerry/Edwards will be advocates for working American and restore an element of critical thinking to international and domestic problems. We need a wise leader with the problems we face and I really wouldn't vote for just anyone to get rid of Bush although I really want him gone. I trust Kerry/Edwards as much as I trust any politician out there.

I do think the pro-Buchanan group will still vote for Bush, at least the ones I know.

5. If you heard Buchanan on Real Time with Bill Maher
(you can still watch the re-runs of last
Friday's show) you will hear Pat say he was
against invading Iraq and the empire building
that the PNAC neo-cons are pushing. When
asked by Maher whether he'll still vote
for Bush, he didn't say. We can assume that
he will, but you never know.

There is a schism in the conservative party
right now and someone ought to make that wider.
True conservatives like Buchanan don't agree
with the neo-con faction.

7. The idea of having a beer with Bush makes me puke. Sitting and
listening to an ego-maniac who can only speak in imbedded phrases is too horrible to imagine. I despise swagger mouths and walking-talking-posturing-shallow brained bottom feeders.

And, if he became serious for a moment, I would resent that he was reading from a tele-prompter.

4. Yesterday's Baby Shower Vote
I went to a baby shower yesterday. There were 12 women there. Out of the 12, two of us were born democrats. The remaining 10 were either Republicans or Independents. The happy ending....8 of the remaining 10 are voting for Kerry. 5 of those are Republicans that voted for Bush* last time, but are voting for ABB this time. That makes the Baby Shower vote: Kerry 10 Bush 2

6. and hopefully that baby won't shoulder our debts...
This administration doesn't talk about the costs
to the future generations in lives, money, environment,
jobs...

as anecdotal evidence but all these anecdotes have to add up to something.

Sorry, I couldn't resist...

8. and did I mention moderate Republicans
will by and large either sit on their hands
or vote Kerry? There's a lot of grumbling out
there, despite the partying in NYC.
