i did a beautiful thing last week...
i moved to maryland from ohio about 7 months ago in that time i have not registered to vote, and was getting ready to do so here, but i thought for a second....

MD will CERTAINLY go for kerry and my vote here won't have as much impact as it would in akron OH, my old home.

so i called and got an akron ohio absentee ballot for one of the most important districts in the most important battleground state sent to me...

kerry will have an extra vote in ohio. =]

2. I don't believe you. A true Democrat would never do something
this dishonest and illegal. You should know better than to post filth like this on the internet.

3. If this isn't illegal, I don't know if it's entirely ethical.
But do as your conscience decides.

well i did it...i still have my OH drivers liscense and still maintain my old residence there for some mail....my grandma's house, ive just physically been somewhere else for the last 7 or so months and i'm NOT registered here.

on the application to get the ballot it listed reasons why, one said "will not be in district on election day" i checked that one as i will not be in the district that i am registered in on election day.

i'm def not a repub and if this is indeed illegal then i won't go with it.

6. That would be so funny if it were true.
Of course it can't be true, though.

You wouldn't post an online confession of fraud, you jokester!

9. another thought
The closest thing I have to a religion is my regard for the sanctity of the electoral process. Duplicity by ANYBODY is anathema to me.

You might be able to imagine my mindset during the treasonous activities in 2000.

10. Our Dem registration volunteers just got the exact same question
TODAY except we are in Cali. DUers please be careful here. I just got a call from a volunteer asking for advice on whether someone who moved to Cali from Ohio should try to vote in Ohio anyways. :eyes:

11. Ohio Rules - How is residence determined
By law your residence is the place to which, whenever you are absent, you have the intent to return. If you continuously reside outside of Ohio for a period of four years or more, you are not a resident of this state for voter registration purposes, except if you are absent from Ohio because of federal Ohio USA Gov Employment, including military service. Leaving for temporary purposes, such as school attendance, does not result in a change of residence for voting purposes, unless you register in the area where you are currently residing.

So if this person has not been gone for more than 4 years, and has the 'intent' to return to Ohio and has not registered in another state, they can vote in Ohio.
