2000 Poll Flashback: Bush lead most of the time
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 05:14 PM by sonicx
This post is not to slam anyone, but here's a list of various 2000's polls. Bush usually lead, and sometimes by huge margins...

I can't imagine what the "it's over" people went through for that election. :)

If you're worried: volunteer, donate, register people, whatever. if you're already doing that, keep it up! :)

1. Bush is certainly in a weaker position now than he was in 2000.

I don't think there can be too much doubt about that. And, as we all know, he narrowly lost the popular vote even in 2000.

Gore was trailing for months and still won; Kerry has been trailing for a weekend and suddenly he's doomed. I don't get it.

5. Trailing for a weekend ...

Exactly.

And not just any weekend either. He's trailing the weekend after the RNC, which is when one would in fact expect him to trail. This should not exactly be a surprise to anyone.

I've had to stay away from DU for the past couple weeks because I just knew the doom and gloom attitude would show up, and I don't care to subject myself to it. I live in a state where Kerry has zero chance of winning and have never once voted for a Presidential candidate who won my state. Yet I see that the dissatisfaction with Bush has grown steadily throughout the past year, even here.

For all the venom projected toward Big Media, I think some folks around these parts spend too much time watching it, and letting it infect them with the exact attitude Rove and company want them to have: defeatism.

Defeatism is a self-fulfilling prophecy, and I'll have none of it, thanks.

2. Notice the Gallup Poll
About 10 days before the election that showed Bush with a 13-point lead.

3. Thanks, SONICX!
Thanks, sonicx, for posting the link! I think many of us, myself included, keep forgetting the aphorism that the important thing isn't to lose our nerves.

Historical perspective helps a LOT!

7. Historical perspective
This historical perspective tells us that George W. Bush is currently President of the United States.
