Apparently, H.W. considered Shrub a "political liability" and asked Allison and her late husband, Jimmy, to take him under their wing and keep him out of trouble in Alabama.

Among Linda Allison's recollections:

-She never saw him in his uniform and no one was aware of him ever being on base.

-He was paid to work on a Senate campaign, but always showed up late (bragging about how drunk he was the night before) and left early.

-When his candidate lost, Dubya got drunk and Allison saw him in the parking lot urinating on a car.

-Shrub trashed his rented house and no one ever paid for the damage.

Another interesting story Allison tells concerns riding in a car with Barbara Bush behind the wheel. She claims that Bushie was on a bicycle in front of the car, riding very, very slowly to aggravate his mommy. Whenever Babs tried to pass him, he would swerve back in front of her.

I suddenly got a perspective on something. I've heard the Constitution was written with a great deal of alcohol. I can see how being drunk is not the problem. The problem is lack of respect. And being an idiot. I can respect an intelligent person for getting drunk, but I can't respect a sober idiot.
Those stories are quite old. In fact, I recently saw a link on DU, of the story about Junior trashing the rental house, and dissing the owner.
