Sure, simplify taxes. But not by using bushes outrageous flat tax.
Our method could be called "Clean Step".
Step, because we keep the progressive step-wise increase on higher incomes.
Clean, because we would SIMPLIFY by removing the thousands of cluttering adjustments to taxes. Like the deductions, and rebates, exemptions,... and i dont recall half of them.
Currently the IRS booklet is both laughable and insane. =========================== Idea #2 --> BEYOND CLEAN STEP -- NO STEP TILL AT HIGH INCOMES { "High Clean Step"}
Personally, i would get all taxes from the top 10 % , as i read it was done before WW2. This year, did not Gen. Wes Clark propose shifting ALL tax from the middle to the upper class?
So this is both a mainstream idea because it HAS been done, and because it has been revived by Gen. Clark. =====================
Recap of the first, main idea here: When bush says "Flat Tax", we can reply, "No, we want "Clean Step taxes"."
