Does anyone know what the average daily arrests are in NYC?

I was hit yesterday with a comment that the protest and arrest in New York demonstrated that the Democrats are running a campaign filled with more hate than the gop.
First, it is ludicrous to claim that all the protesters were Democrats, some just hate shrub.
Second, 1800 arrests from 1/2 million protesters, that is pretty good numbers considering there was a lot of hate coming from the delegates.
I would like to compare the numbers of arrest during the convention to an average of the same time period any given week in NYC.
It might surprise some people.

There are about 3,000 complaints a week filed with the NYPD for homicide, burglary, larceny, rape and other felonies.

2. many of the arrests were "pre-emptive".

people hadn't done anything yet but they were still arrested. Often the cops corner a group of people, tell them they have a certain amount of time to disperse, then arrest them before the time is up. Usually the people can't disperse because they are cornered by the cops. You can be arrested as a passerby if you happen to be at the wrong place and get penned in.
