Arnold LIED at the convention!!!!!
"When I was a boy, the Soviets occupied part of Austria. I saw their tanks in the streets. I saw communism with my own eyes."

"I remember how scared I was that the soldiers would pull my father or my uncle out of the car, and I'd never see him again."

LIE!!!!

"... Schwarzenegger, now a naturalized U.S. citizen, was born on July 30, 1947, when Styria and the neighboring province of Carinthia belonged to the British zone. At the time, postwar Austria was occupied by the four wartime allies, which also included the United States, the Soviet Union and France.

The Soviets already had left Styria in July 1945, less than three months after the end of the war... "

The very fearsomeness of the Soviets would have made any sensible Austrian reluctant to enter their jurisdiction. Schwarzenegger's father had volunteered to be a brown shirt in Hitler's Sturmabteilung, an item on his resume that might have given the Soviets a legitimate reason to detain him.

If someone has to lie about his own past, and the past of others to get someone elected president of the United States, what does that say not only about his own character, but about the person he's recommending?

5. Well, you kind of made my point for me.
I was going to say, name any minute of any speech during the RNC that didn't contain either a lie, or the words '9/11.'

6. What does it say about his intellect?
Imagine knowingly using false information to create powerful imagery that supports your political position, thinking that it won't be discovered. Steroids = brain damage? Was he born under a rock? This is a presidential election, Ham n' egger. Everything you say and do is going to be under a microscope.

Well, he's earned his mettle as a true Repugnican.

9. But..but..but..Kerry might have been 500 yds out of Cambodia in 1969
...Erggh!

Apparently, making a bald-faced lie then sticking with it means you're "decisive".

That is a truly ugly man.

The Kennedys should kick his ass out on the street.

11. And his Nixon references.........
He was talking about free enterprise, getting government off your back, lowering taxes and strengthening the military. Listening to Nixon speak sounded more like a breath of fresh air.

Free Enterpise
Yes. Nixon did talk about this.

Getting government off your back
Sorta Kinda. Nixon never campaigned for de-regulation, exactly. His position was to reduce federal spending on programs that would be passed down the pipeline to...

''My position is that there are many things that runaway federal government is trying to do today that local government --
or private enterprise or individuals can do better.

Lowering Taxes
No. Actually, Nixon campaigned on raising taxes and cutting spending.

Stengthening the Military
No. Nixon never campaigned on this issue. Actually, from his campaign brochure...

''Every American wants peace in Viet Nam. The question is what kind of peace. The war must be ended, but in a way that does not encourage aggression and thereby sow the seeds of future wars.

''Beyond this, we need a new diplomacy -- one that looks past Viet Nam to the prevention of future wars, and one that enlists other nations more fully in their own defense.

"In Korea, and again in Viet Nam, America furnished most of the money and most of the arms -- and most of the men.

"America is a big country. But there are only 200 million Americans, and there are more than 2 billion people who live in the free world. We need a new diplomacy that will get other nations with a stake in the defense of peace and freedom to bear their share of the burden. And we need a new diplomacy that will insure that, if the people of a friendly nation again are threatened, we help them fight the war but we don't fight the war for them."

And those imaginary "communists" that AllNo saw in Austria. Nixon campaigned on continuing Soviet-USA relations. Which for Nixon was a flip-flop from his previously stated position 8 years prior.
