When is the Gallup poll out?
And why is it so late? After our convention they released it on the Saturday so they could scream about Negative bounce.

The numbers must be bad for * :-)

2. Gallup's website says "after the holiday". . .

http://www.gallup.com/content/?ci=12919

<snip>

While Gallup cannot answer questions about what the ballot will look like on Labor Day until new CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll results are released after the holiday . . .

Their article was dated September 3. No idea why the delay, as I too remember the Kerry poll was out early in the weekend (which caused some to question its veracity, since there'd been so little time for a 'bounce' to register).

3. Wonder if they read Scott Rasmussen's repudiation of Newsweek's
poll--about Newsweek oversampling Repukes in that survey.

4. Faux News and other talking heads are still announcing the
results of the poll that came out LAST THURSDAY! The only mention of the current Rasmussen poll that I've seen has been online.

The coming polls should be very interesting.

5. Gallup: Bush 380%, Kerry 3%

Gallup is garbage, forget about it.

6. Gallup is not Garbage.
Much as we like to think it is. Gallup is the flagship National poll.

When we say Clinton got a 16 point bounce in '92, or Carter was ahead at Labour day, or Gore took the lead after his convention, we're talking about the Gallup poll.

You know I'm right.

8. Gallup
uses a likely voter screen that is much too strict. The Clinton campaign called them on that screen and they turned out to be right.

9. most publicly known
does not equal most reputable. the only polls i trust are exit polls. even the best likely voter models (which gallup doesn't even have) don't necessarily correspond with who actually goes to vote. we do live in a country where less than 50% turn out for presidential races. so i say the best polls are the ones counting the people coming directly out of the voting booth.

7. I've been wondering about that, too.
Even though the CNN/USA Today/Gallup polls always favor Bush. CNN usually can't stop talking about those poll results. Mysteriouser and mysteriouser...
