Family names are everything. Get this- there has never been a person of any ethnicity to hold a job or serve in our cities Municipality. Maybe one slightly minority fire fighter/police officer, once we had first two females elected to Pres. of Council and At large seat.
They even run the Public School Board while sending their kids to private schools, etc. Yet, somehow this town is considered one of the last Democratic stronghold of suburbs north of Cincinnati. We have lots of Catholic Dems, but they lean to right.
From my observations, this town of Catholics love high school football, drinking, and gambling in the Church/School lunchroom/basement. Things are changing very slowly, and diversity has arrived at last.
