Palin embraces "redneck woman" label ... link
This is bad politics- Palin already has the rednecks in her corner. She needs to reassure the rest of the country, instead she's just sticking with her base.

2. Yo, Sarah!
"REDNECK" ain't no fucking compliment!

When I think 'redneck,' I think bigoted, willfully ignorant, provincial, anti-intellectual, hyper-nationalistic and narrow minded.

How the fuck anyone could be proud to call themselves such as that is beyond comprehension.

3. Well, her rally tomorrow in Springfield, MO is in the Bass Pro Shops parking lot
Yeah, I can't stop laughing either. It's not funny because they had to move it to a larger venue than where they were having it but that's just PERFECT that it's in the Bass Pro Shops parking lot.

Somebody's got to get a picture out there of her in front of the Bass Pro Shops sign.

5. Well this makes sense. Her son in law is a self identified redneck also.
Actually he is a self identified "motherfuckin redneck". His words, not mine.

6. It's not the fundy base she's pandering to here, it's a never mentioned demographic

Uneducated, rural white YOUTH. It's a reference to that Gretchen Wilson song and the proud redneck culture around it. As for the "proud redneck" label, to cannibalize from something I posted before, the redneck thing is about a class of ignorant white folks trying to eke out a smidgen of pride and self-confidence from their situation, which let's face it, is shitty and getting worse, (for a number of reasons, including their own voting patterns). They're trying to establish an identity, or reclaim part of their identity from the caricatures that have been made of them for decades, and try to own and control what the image signifies.

7. She's campaigning for 2012.
She may have an IQ of 83, but I'm sure even she knows that the chances of McCain winning this thing are almost nonexistent, so she has her eye on other things. That's my guess.
