1. Here ya go..
GEORGE W Bush snorted cocaine at Camp David, a new book claims.

His wife Laura also allegedly tried cannabis in her youth.

Author Kitty Kelley says in her biography The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty, that the US President first used coke at university in the mid-1960s.

She quotes his former sister-in-law Sharon Bush who claims: "Bush did coke at Camp David when his father was President, and not just once either."

Other acquaintances allege that as a 26-year-old National Guard, Bush "liked to sneak out back for a joint or into the bathroom for a line of cocaine".

Bush has admitted being an alcoholic but, asked during the 1999 election if he did drugs, he said: "I've told the American people that years ago I made some mistakes.

"I've learned from my mistakes and should I be fortunate enough to become president I will bring dignity and honour to the office."

Later an aide clarified his remarks saying Bush hadn't taken illegal drugs in the past 25 years.

Kelley says that the Bush family covered up scandals because of their wealth and influence. She claims George W started drinking at school and continued at Yale university to overcome shyness.

Former student Torbery George says in the book: "Poor Georgie. He couldn't relate to women unless he was loaded."

Another says: "He went out of his way to act crude. It's amazing someone you held in such low esteem later became president."

His supporters have slammed the allegations as outrageous.

The White House said: "This book appears to be filled with the same trash discredited years ago."

6. am I the only one...
... that has a bad feeling about this book and how it's going to dominate the news? Time is precious and Kerry needs to be on point about the issues. That's going to win for us. I don't want Kitty Kelly interviewed on the news shows, I want Carville and Dean and all our guys!!!!!

17. A lot of people will believe Kitty Kelley -- people who

don't listen to political talk. I think it will hurt Bush* among RW Christians and many will stay home.

Kerry IS on point and has been all along. The media prefer to report dirt and now it's time for some mud to hit Dubya.

8. They may be "outrageous", but are they true?
Calling something "outrageous" is not the same as denying it.

13.  I know, if we don't do it, they will be nice to us.
Not. We have allowed them to dictate the terms, and the terms have been bash Kerry and lie. It is time.

15. Let them waste their energy on it
Let them get their shorts in a wad over it,. Who knows what other things might be revealed as a result.

And too bad for them? No way. Let them get upset over it. I doubt there is something in there, given the reputation of Kelly, that they can sue over.

Let them suffer over it.

16. Push poll time!
"Do you think illegal drug abuse is compatible with strong family values?"

"Would you look on George Bush more favorably or less favorably if you learned he took cocaine at Camp David?"

"Would you look on George Bush more favorably or less favorably if you learned he frequently used cocaine and marijuana while on duty with the national guard?"

"Would you be less likely to think of George Bush as fit for office if you learned that he refused to take a drug test while in the National Guard and was grounded as a result?"

Target his fundies in the swing states. Get the whispers going. Eventually the media will pick up the rumors and the ugliness, just like they did with the Swift Hoaxers, and his message will be drowned out at a crucial time. This guy chokes under pressure as it is. Give him some. Hit him with his own past.

19. He very clearly admitted using drugs
when he said, "I'm not going to answer any more questions about that because I don't want to send a signal that what I may or may not have done is OK." (very close paraphrase) When asked if he had used drugs, Bush couldn't say yes, because that would have destroyed his "honor and dignity" campaign theme. He couldn't say no, because there were too many witnesses who could step forward and prove he was lying. So he gave what he thought was a clever non-answer. It wasn't so clever, however.

If he could truthfully have answered that he hadn't taken drugs, that wouldn't be a dangerous signal to send others.

20. Kitty Kelley's not a 527, the GOP can't yell 'foul'
Kerry can stick to message, and the talking heads and crow about the innuendoes all they want. Our hands are 100% clean.

Brilliant !!!

21. As governor, Bush never pardoned anybody,
not even people who were caught with some weed or coke and were given long sentences. Considering that he used these substances himself when he was younger, it is beyond me how he could let people lanquish in prison for doing no more than he did. I think he is a disgusting sadist who gets off on other peoples' misery.
