Bush is a POSEUR!!!

I grew up in Idaho on a REAL ranch. For the life of me, I can't figure out why Dubya feels he can call his country estate a ranch. I have yet to see any evidence that he owns any livestock. Can he even ride a horse??? All I see are photos of him clearing brush -- but, what in the heck for??? It must be mighty important since he calls press conferences to photograph him carrying a few sticks... Weenie roast, anyone?

I'm also sick and tired of him wearing cowboy medals that he didn't earn (ie. cowboy hats, cowboy boots, and most of all his bow legged swagger that can only be earned by many years of riding).

I now live in the South, and it is so apparent that Bush is also desperatly trying to adopt a Southern accent. Unfortunately for him, it doesn't cut it.

If Bush really wants to prove he's a John Wayne, he'd show us his hands... Show us your hands, Bush! If you're a real cowboy, your hands will not deceive you. But, if your hands look more like a cheerleaders (no offense to cheerleaders), then I trust my own observations will prove accurate -

And won't ride them. When he went to visit Mexican President Fox's REAL ranch, they had a photo-op with a bunch of locals, and they were all wanting Bush to get up on Fox's horse Maximilano (I think), but he wouldn't do it.

To make room for ANY productive endeavor? No, none that we ever hear (and if there was a good reason, we'd certainly hear about it).

And, if 'clearing the brush' were that important, wouldn't there be a bobcat thing to do it and just get the job done? No, it's just 3.5 years of pointless photo-ops. I pointed that out to my repub brother a few weeks ago...he was speechless b/c he saw the truth of it.

Several years ago I was in Texas and a friend took me on a tour of one of the wealther neighborhoods around Dallas. The funny thing was that every McMansion had a cow in the front yard. Yes a real live cow. My friend explained that the millionaires were taking advantage of a tax loophole (original created to benefit poor farmers) that provided property tax exemptions if you had at least one cow.... and your swanky mansion was now classified a "ranch". My friend said the whole affair was a "dirty little secret" of the Texas political scene and no one had the power or will to contest it. In a way, it's like rich folks buying tax-free SUVs because they aren't luxury vehicles... but rather "trucks" and "farm vehicles".

All this talk about Bush's so-called "ranch" got me thinking.... DOES BUSH PAY HIS PROPERTY TAXES? Any good sleuths around care to find out? Might make a good ol' mud pie for Georgie-boy.

15. I thought that one story was hilarious

when he drove someone around the ranch and when they saw the cows, the only thing he said was "Bovine." I grew up on a small beef cattle farm and I never once heard my dad call them that. When he showed people his cows, he would talk their ears off about what breeds they were and how he farmed organically and on and on. Bush doesn't know one thing about cows and does not have one bit of interest in farming, he is the fakest assed person in the world.

We still have a "real" ranch there. Like, with skinny cattle and mesquite and creosote bushes and a salt lake. I also worked there in the 80's as a geologist. Never ever heard of or laid eyes on GW Bush, and it's a small place, even smaller then.

He's not a rancher, not a cowboy, not a wildcatter, not a Texan. He's part of the Petroleum Club set, those guys who sat around drinkin' and trying to smooze for deals while ripping off landowners any way they could. I wasn't allowed in the Petroleum Club, even though I was a profesional in the oil industry working for a major company, because I'm female. But I dealt with those sleaze balls all the time. They thought they owned the earth. What my aunt used to call em "big butter n'egg men."

My aunts, uncles, grandmother, great aunts and uncles ate dust in Midland County for a century. They're Texans. Bush ain't fit to clean the mud off their boots.

The brush-clearing is hilarious. I turned to my mother once and said, "Is there any brush left on that place?"

She said, "I wish he'd come clear some on ours!"
