"Bush Apparently Mixes Up Words in Speech" - AP (rate it up)
Bush Apparently Mixes Up Words in Speech

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - President Bush (news - web sites) apparently mixed up his words Monday while delivering his usual campaign speech about the rising cost of health care.

"We need to do something about these frivolous lawsuits that are running up the cost of your health care and running good docs out of business," Bush said. "We've got an issue in America. Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB/GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."

The president was speaking to an applauding crowd of thousands of supporters in this southeast Missouri town of 16,500 people.

So what sentence was "love" supposed to fit with?
And did he say "medicine" in that sentence instead?
"MIXES UP?" Is that what he did?

7. Yes -- hilarious, and Olberman's reaction was priceless
I'm glad the AP wrote something about it.

without screwing up at least one word. The man is dain-bramaged, I tell ya!

Of course, NOW they want to point this out because what he said is SO amazingly twisted that people are laughing all over the country!

Sun to rise in the east tomorrow morning; water is wet, and the mascots at the NBA games aren't really giant animals.

8. Up to 4.82...
I'm with you, I don't think that was a mix-up at all. Maybe it was yet another Republican euphemism for "srewing" the general population -- like "compassionate conservatism" and "trickle down economics"...

11. As I said in the "Bush's presenile dementia" thread the other day...
I do think something has gone awry inside the gray matter of Dubya.

I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 the other day (for the FIFTH time), and was struck by an interview with Dubya done when his father was president.

Dubya was able to put many full sentences together without hemming and hawing around, and garbling and mispronouncing and malapropping. He sounded like a completely different person!!!

If you look back at unscripted moments from Ronald Reagan, during the HUAC hearings and his years as Cali. governor, he was a much better, more lucid speaker than he was when he was president. We now know what was happening to Reagan. Something is definitely going on with Dubya.

12. Hypothesis
The F 9/11 interview is the natural George persona. Hence, he was normal and composed.

George was transformed into Dubya for race for Texas governor.

Playing that character, maintaining the accent and the "good ol' boy" persona is very taxing on the brain.

Keeping up with lies that you don't believe yourself is an enormous drain of energy.

It stands to reason that these brain farts would happen frequently due to his fake persona.

13. where did the AP get "mixes up"
the story doesn't quote a Bush campaign spokesperson giving that explanation.

Is the AP in the business of making excuses for Bush? I recall another AP headline that called a serious (war-related I think) statement by Bush a "quip."

15. "Apparently?" Does the headline writer have a deeper understanding
of the subtleties of Bushspeak than I do? WTF? Bush said something STUPID and weird enough to make an observer wonder about the man's mental faculties!!!

I'm waiting for the in depth reporting on possible conditions that lead to this increasingly bizarre use of language and odd physical symptoms as he speaks....Yeah, right.

A pervert caught on video and I've seen it getting a lot of play time on all news channels.

20. That's exactly how I see it.
A Freudian slip. There's no way an emotionally retarded man like Bush is NOT going to have filthy junior high school images of what OB-GYN's do for a living. I'm surprised it wasn't something worse than "love", but that also tells me that Bush probably can't bring himself to talk about people having "sex" with each other, he can only couch it in a soft-porn uephemism like 'making love'.

He used the phrase "corny dog" today at Boone County Fair rally. Did he mean 'corndog' the food, or 'horny dog'the Fruedian slip?
