Like the one I saw of him working a rope line, kissing a baby who started crying AFTER he handed her back to her mother.

If you notice, he ALWAYS pulled back his head when he's looking at the infant/toddler age- you can tell he was a really involved daddy because he automaticly puts himself at a distance where they can focus on him and not feel threatened.

It shows in his face. He understands what they represent: the future.

I don't have kids. But much of my life philosophy is built around making this world a better place for all children, their children, and future generations. I see that same sentiment in Barack Obama, and it warms my heart.

It's also why the last 8 years have been so difficult to bear. The selfishness, callousness, and short-sightedness of so many Republicans, many who have children of their own, is incomprehensible.

It may sound weird, but I like how he does this with babies, I do it also. I love how babies smell (their heads at least) and it is a very "parenting" thing to do, shows the world how you connect with your kids.

and neither he nor the kids look relaxed and happy. Actually, I've never seen McCain look genuinely happy--except when he was hugging or eating cake with bush. :puke:

35. A politician who really does actually love children

and not just use them as props. I never liked pictures of politicans holding babys...it's such a cliche from another era about insincerity. But it's easy to see that he really adores children, and that means something. He will not forget them when making policy.
