Is anyone else getting nervous about the 30 minute special on Wednesday?
We are winning right now! On track for a possible landslide... the only thing that could go wrong as many have stated is a major gaffe or something taking place between now and Election Day. Obama has always made the right moves in the past, but now I'm really nervous because I don't want us to screw up a good thing!

Nope, not worried one bit. I recommend that you go find and eat a little...
piece of pie, you'll feel better...

Obama will be outstanding, no gaffes, another history address, very optimistic and presidential.

10. If the special is anything like the short film
that played at the Convention before Obama's speech (although obviously focusing more on policy), it should only help.

.... I was worried that it might be overkill. That he could run the risk of coming off like more of a celebrity and less like a candidate like he did (to some) with the Berlin speech.

But, this man has never, EVER dissapointed me. He has NEVER done anything that I would consider to be a bad move.

I'm not gonna doubt him now.

On something like race if he raised his eyebrow the wrong way it could have been disastrous. But it was a magnificent speech on the most explosive topic there is. I now trust Obama implicitly

23. Not at all...
The few "gaffes" that came out in this exceptionally well run campaign, fizzled into the air almost imnediately.

Obama's campaign has been near perfect, the precise opposite of the McCain disasterous campaign. I am not worried in the least.

I think it's a brilliant move. It would be easy for them to coast the rest of the way and hope that the leads hold, but why should they do that when they have the resources to keep on the offense? It's just another way that Obama shows that he's not taking anything for granted, and he's serious about making changes in this country. And it also will allow him to dominate another news cycle, which is very important at this stage of the game.

I keep thinking of that clip of Obama talking to his staffers after he had won the primaries and telling them how if another candidate had won the nomination, it would be okay, and they would have joined forces with the other candidate and work with them, but since he won now they have no choice: they have to win. Obama made a commitment right then to be the best candidate he could be, and his team made the commitment with him to fight as hard as possible to ensure victory. And they haven't let us down yet - and I don't think they will. This is called pulling away from the competition. Team Obama will keep running at full speed until they hit the end zone on the night of November 4th.

29. No need to worry, You can bet this special is going to be about
setting the record straight on his tax policies. And his plans to create jobs. They aren't going to take unnecessary chances.

Expect to see them using that tax calculator on his website and how they can turn old factories into places to build solar panels or wind turbines. I bet you won't see them even mention McCain

33. A little but...
Yes, Dahlia, I was a little worried... the same way I cringed at the thought of the Greek columns at Mile High Statium when he accepted the nomination. And then-- when I was it, it blew me away. I thought, wow, this is the way presidents should accept nominiations. This is worthy of America. Respectful. No more "honest cloth coat" simpering platitudes! It was the greatest! And fireworks, too! So what do I know. I think he can do no wrong. So I'm not worried. Besides, he's gonna be elected.

Love THE picture!!!

People can watch it or they can change the channel. I'm sure the special will be prerecorded and managed in an expert fashion just like the rest of his campaign.

35. Not really
Edited on Sun Oct-26-08 10:20 PM by VADem11
Obama needs one last thing to really close the deal and generate a last-minute surge of enthusiasm for him. This is also an opportunity to reach out to all the low-info voters and increase Obama's national lead. We can't just coast right now and this will also stop any attempt by McCain to pull a last minute stunt. I also have no doubt that it will be incredibly well filmed too. I highly doubt there will be a gaffe.

One other thing to note is that people actually like Obama more when they see him and realize he doesn't fit the caricatures that the repups have made. This will be especially helpful in dispelling all the rumors the repubs are peddling. I'm actually pretty excited to see what's in store on Wednesday!
