American Apple Pie



INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
7 1/2 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples
1 cup raisins
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1 egg

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Spray deep dish pie plate with cooking spray
Combine white sugar, light brown sugar, flour, lemon, cinnamon, and mix well. Add apples and raisins to sugar mixture; stir until fruit is well coated.
Spoon apple mixture into pie crust. Place second piecrust on top of filling, and trim edges. Lightly glaze top of pie with a beaten egg, then sprinkled with a little sugar.
Bake till golden brown, about 35 to 40 minutes. Place on a wire rack, and cool 30 minutes.

Thanks for the apple pie! We need the perfect sweet potato pie recipe soon. The weekend before election day is coming up and some of us might have to make one (or more:) ahead of time.

Who has the best Sweet Potato Pie recipe? Give it up for Obama!!! Michelle's Mom, we need to get her recipe. How do we contact Michelle's Mom???

8. Just attended that rally. He was given a pie for the road today by the local restaurant

that catered his entourage and the press corp. (I happen to know the chefs :-). The Secret Service will probably get to eat it-- I imagine he gets a lot of pies these days..

It was an awesome experience being in the same facility (city civic center)with our next President of the United States.
I say "facility". because it was so packed I was up in nosebleed heaven. I am still pinching myself.

We love him. He loves us back! :-)
