1 hour 10 min wait Early Voting - Northern VIRGINIA (reason required)
Unlike many states that simply let you vote early, Virginia requires an reason that would keep you away
form the polls (surgery that day, out of town, care giver, and a few others).

It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to vote in Northern Virginia a 1:30 pm today. This area will go 60-40%
Obama ,maybe even 65%.

8 machines in service.

Virginia's primary, Democratic, had 900,000 plus voters in 2008 compared to 330,000 in 2004 (approx. #'s)

It's going to be a blowout

1. Just FYI, there are 3 VA votes in the primaries that won't be counted in VA for the GE
Me and 2 of my friends moved from Norfolk, VA to Silver Spring, MD, so our 3 primary votes won't turn into General Election votes.

We now wish we would/could have timed our move better.

2. Voted at lunch today in Denver
There was no line at all. The workers said I got lucky and caught a lull in early voting turnout.

3. No line at the early voting center my wife went to on Friday...
... 5pm at the Ag Center in Greensboro. Packed parking lot but no lines. Curbside voting available too (no-one there though).

Edited on Mon Oct-27-08 05:31 PM by blue sky at night
PResident of THe UNited STates of AMerica yesterday with a big group of FINE Americans...I could tell I was surrounded by Mostly DEMS as most of them had sample ballots in their hands!!! Also, it brought a tear to my eye to vote with a predominantly African American Crowd, where I live it is mostly White People....we early voted at the Summit County Ohio Center, the "JOB CENTER"! We simply vote absentee and no questions are asked as to why. Oh, and it only took us about 30 minutes as we made history!!!

CHange, HOpe, OBama/BIden............!

7. OHIO!!!
Good for you!!! I'd so love Ohio to go Democrat, nice in your face to the jerks who stole it twice.

You're right - no special requirements, not too many delays, although 1/2 hour is significant.

The area is heavy Obama. I can't imagine what election day will look like.

11. ya, we were on Tallmadge Avenue....
it is the County's Building, a huge venue of an old Grocery Store Complex. I spoke to some friends today about it, and they too found it to be especially striking to vote there.

8. I hand delivered my absentee ballot today in Alexandria, VA...
The place was jumping! Everybody was filling out their application for a ballot; I had done mine on line and received a ballot on the 17th.

I just realized that I meant to make a copy and take a picture of my ballot! Dammit! I forgot to do so! :spank:

Nevertheless, it will be forever in my memory.

GoBama!!!!

10. Cell phone camera!!! Damn
I could have taken a pic of the screen.

Obama is going to crush McCain. That's an East Coast win. Let them deny that or try to claim it's
not a wipe out after Virginia reports, which is quite early after the polls close;)
