Waited nearly two hours but finally voted today
In Canton, Ohio. Probably 150 or so people midday at the Stark County voting board. I'd say about 50-50 black versus white and all over the map in age. I talked to many people waiting and it seemed almost unanimous for Obama. Of course that is not at all scientific. What made it more fun was Obama was about three blocks away speaking while i was hitting the machine button. We have Diebold machines with clear paper trails. My readout was 100% correct.

Now I hope everyone else does the same thing and hits the Obama button.

1. Congrats. I voted today also. It took me about 20 minutes but had to go through a metal detector
do it. Oh well, what the hell.

2. Me, too!
SW FL--no wait at all, and I was thrilled to see they'd thrown out those new touch screens from last election and went back to the old Scantrons. It was my daughter's first election and I had a hard time getting her back in the car because she was determined to flatten every McLame sign in the parking lot. . . :eyes:

4. I hope Hagel's machines flip for Obama this time.

I voted too! It feels good. I had filled out my ballot last week, but didn't want to wait until the 30th to drop it off locally, in case I don't make it to the 4th, so I drove up to the County Auditor's building after work today and dropped my ballot in the box there. No way was I going to mail it.

I canvassed with my sister after a rally yesterday for Obama and Gov. Gregoire in Snohomish county. We ran into a few anti-Obama people at first. They turned into mild confrontations because my sister started arguing with them. She's very friendly and likable, but doesn't have an ounce of tolerance for 'stupid', and has this way of looking at person in shock and disbelief if they say something unacceptable, like, 'I'm not votin' for no socialist' 'Who are you talking about? Socialist??', or 'I'm Democrat, but I just voted for the governor 'cuz I wanted Hillary to be preznit'. My sister was like, 'Wait. You are a Democrat but you left the space for President blank???' The guy started stuttering and getting defensive. Another guy said he couldn't vote for McCain so he wrote in Bob Barr, so my sister said, 'Oh, so you've opted not to make a difference?' 'No! I AM makin' a difference.' That pissed the guy off, LOL. Then my sister starting cussing under her breath, like, 'No one gives a shit if you write in Bob Barr. That's not sending a message at all, because NO ONE CARES.', and, 'Oh my god, what real Democrat would not vote for Barack Obama???. Then it was, 'Oh my god, liberalmuse, we have to get you the fuck out of here. This is oppressive! I can't stand it! (she lives in Seattle).' That was after the first 4 houses with 1 for Obama.

The good news is, very few people can stomach the thought of voting for McCain. The better news is, we canvassed many more Obama supporters, and our last two streets were entirely pro-Obama. When a kid answers the door and starts jumping up and down at the mention of 'Obama', you know it's going to be a fun house, LOL.
