The way I see it, all this talk from the Bush/Cheney camp is just an irrelevant diversion. They can say all they want about how Kerry "changes his position" on events in Iraq that happened in the past (i.e. should we have gone to war or not), but does that really have any bearing on Kerry's leadership? Does it matter? Not really.
The Kerry campaign should stop having to answer questions from the media and the Bush camp about Iraq a year and a half ago and start asking the Bush administration what THEY will do with Iraq a year and a half from now.
Of course, people don't really care about issues these days. CNN said yesterday that a poll taken in 2000 asking "What do you look for more in a candidate?" revealed 60% of people looked at their issues, 37% their leadership ability. Now, in 2004, the same poll says 60% leadership 39% issues. Bush can keep calling himself a "strong decisive leader" and keep hammering Kerry about the past, while masking his lack of leadership in Iraq and the economy.
Let's hope Kerry can turn that around.
