A shift of male votes into Obama's column has helped give the Democrat his best lead in seven days. Men had been holding at 48%-41% McCain, but on Tuesday switched to 46%-45% Obama. This may reflect some temporary volatility, however. Another key group, Catholics, who've been swinging in a tight range, are back in the Obama camp.
