How do the Repugs do it every election????
I was just listening to McCain screaming "No one making over 150K will get a tax cut from Obama" and the crowd was booing, hooting and hollering as if this would affect them!!! How many in the crowd mske over 150? Not many. Yet they are voting against Obama because of this while they WOULD get a tax cut from Obama. I DON'T GET IT! How do the Rethugs get ordinary people to vote against their own best interests!!?

I know this is not new, but it blows my mind!

do NO wrong, always blame it on another country or blame whatever goes wrong in America, on the liberals, progressives & the democrats wanting to tax them....yet they forget how well they had it under 8 years of Clinton with lower taxes....

Republicans trash Clinton and these ignorant sheep believe every word...Republicans pound this shit into these people through media day after day after day....until they spew out talking points like robots....they NEVER think for themselves or they would be fucking republicans, party of the rich & corporations!

And these same hateful, lying, greedy republican people believe it, and want to hear it even if it's a lie!!!

Another convenient delusion to set alongside their faith in god and the security they think they're buying with their guns.

7. That's just it
These people don't realize that all they'll be doing under McCain is making the person richer than them even more richer.

22. I'm sure they probably resent not being called "smart".
However, I think "low-information voter" is worse than calling them STUPID. They are controlled by advertising soundbites and years of conditioning.

11. "Most men without property would rather protect the possibility
of becoming rich than face the reality of being poor. And that is why they will follow us." John Dickinson, quoted in "1776."

18. It is from the musical "1776," but most of the dialogue is taken
directly from transcripts and correspondence, so no doubt it can be found somewhere in historical documents.

12. Someone explained it me well (and Bill Maher talked about it too)
They live in a fantasy land. They imagine that they too will be making over 150k sometime soon, and they make their decisions based on their fantasies and not based on reality.

13. Why do people buy Lottery tickets every single week?
Everyone wants to be a winner, everyone thinks they are destined to be a winner.

14. They tailor their message to the lowest common denominator
The Repugs know there are a lot of stupid and/or ignorant people out there and actively pursue their votes. This is why a "policy" speech from McCain/Palin is mostly a collection of sound bites and catch phrases.

16. I'm thinking it's because they're programmed like Pavlovian dogs: Taxation BAD
That's the only reason I can think of...unless they think that those >$150K taxpayers (another LIE by McCain, it's >$250K) are going to trickle some $$$ down to them and they won't be able to do it because evil socialist Obama is going to tax them so hard they can't give $$$ to the middle class, however these ijits think that's going to happen.

17. It's sad.
A lot of these people probably make $30,000.

But they cheer wildly at these speeches.

And also when capital gains taxes are talked about.

How many of these people have capital gains?

19. What I can't begin to wrap my mind around
is how these people can't see that having more money when resources are tighter due to a larger percentage being required for sustenance actually increases your ability to move to greater opportunities because you have more money to save and/or invest and a little extra cushion while you're closer to the bone.

SammiJo The Stooge, under Obama's plan would be much closer to day he could make his dream come true and when he does then he'll be able to offer top notch benefits to attract better help which means he'll have a more profitable business and more repeat customers.

21. Some people truly believe that THEY, too will be rich someday.
Some of it's groupthink, some of it's wanting to belong to something, some of it is "God, Guns, and Gays", a lot of it is the fact that the Democratic Message is usually complicated, and the Republican message is simple. Sad, but attention span wars have been won by the Republicans.
