Remember how it felt...
Edited on Tue Oct-28-08 06:06 PM by Renaissance Man
Remember how it felt the night before you went to bed in November 2000, and woke up the following morning, and the election was stolen?

Remember how it felt after September 11th, when everything described as liberal was anti-American and unpatriotic?

Remember how it felt when you knew that George Bush would be an abject failure, and every rightwing nutcase thought it was YOU with the mental problem?

Remember how it felt when you knew that Bush and his cronies lied to get us into Iraq, and followed up with more lies as to why it was necessary?

Remember how it felt when someone called you a "cut and runner" when you only wanted to see our soldiers with the proper body armor or come home with honor and in one piece, and not have to fight a war based on a lie?

Remember how it felt to be demonized and scorned because you and everyone who agreed with you were called unpatriotic if you didn't support the war?

Remember how it felt to see someone you knew die as a result of the war?

Remember how it felt struggling to pay the bills and make ends meet when just a few years ago, you were able to save, and life was just better?

Remember how it felt to have people who are so chickenshit that they would never see the light of day in military service call someone else who served and was a quadruple amputee a pussy?

Remember how it felt to see people peddle lie, after lie, after lie, and you knew it, but the media didn't have the balls to call them on it?

Remember how Shrub got on stage in '04, and the filth that is the Republican party mocked someone who served in combat, and they stole the election (the second time), using September 11th for political gain?

Remember seeing the economy go into the shitter?

There's a lot more that I'm sure you remember. The point is this:

WE HAVE ONE FUCKING WEEK TO GET THIS SHIT RIGHT.

Obama doesn't need your tears. He doesn't need your sympathy. He doesn't need your overconfidence. He doesn't need you going batshit crazy over everything that the Moron and the Geezer have to say about anything. Catering to the lowest of the lowest life forms in society is what they do.

What he needs is for you to fight. WHATEVER IT TAKES. There are calls that need to be made, money that can be donated, and people that can be driven to the polls. GET OUT THE VOTE -- IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THAT.

You want your country back, well then FIGHT for it. Then maybe a little over a week from now, you'll remember that everything that you've endured was worth your country.

1. I've redeemed all those criminals because I'm above it all
I have forgiveness in my heart which means I am better than the laws America used to have regarding torture, election tampering, conspiracy to commit war, genocide, civilian killing, wiretapping, outing CIA agents, etc...

3. I still have my tape of when the SCOTUS deliberated the recount case
over the airwaves, allowing the audio feed to go out publicly for the first time in their history.

4. I remember all that and
going out to celebrate our new President thanks to exit polls and my own conviction that our country wasn't that fucking stupid or malevolent. What nosedive of a night that ended up. :eyes:

5. "WE HAVE ONE FUCKING WEEK TO GET THIS SHIT RIGHT."
Not really. I am sure people have spoken those very words about Nixon ...then Reagan ...then Bush, and Bush again.

The problem isn't the leaders we keep getting rid of, the problem is the people who keep voting in these monsters, and then support every crazy thing they do.

Until these people are gone, we will always have this problem. How can we be expected to re-build the country WITH the very people who just tore it down ?

Yet here we are.

When Al Gore was declared the winner, I began to doze off. Until, i received a call from my best friend
He told me that Gore won but they took florida back. I was WTF!, He came over with a 12 pack and shot the shit with me. When Bush was declared the winner at around 3:30 in the morning. We were fucking depressed, buzz gone. The next morning, the attitude on campus was total silence. Never again!!!

I tell DU this: I do not ever want to go through that shit again. I promise, I will cry my ass off when Obama wins, because of the heartbreak in 2000.

My motivation for helping Obama. Making calls, donations.

My wife told me this just now. When Bill Clinton won the election in 92 and 96. Where was I on election day? FLORIDA! When the Republicans won, I wasnt in Florida.

I'm going to Tampa on Thursday/Friday to help Obama and back to my hometown in Cutler Ridge on Saturday. I will help out while visiting family. I will stay there until Wednesday.
