Nasty and False Email I just got.
Notice that what the sender of this "non partisian" email calls Obama at the bottom.

Subject: factual information-candidate comparison

This e-mail does not serve as an endorsement for or opposition to a candidate.

It presents factual information.

Hello, I am Aaron Michael Robichaux (38), my wife Kelly Daigle Robichaux (37), and my two beautiful kids, Gabriel (6) & Sydney (4) are wanting to announce the differences between the two candidates for PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. It is a very important election in 21 days and we feel it in our hearts to do this.

I am a business owner and employ between 8 to 12 workers. We do Lawn & Landscaping work inLouisiana. I have been in business for more than 5 years now, and we are doing pretty good. We both have college degrees and love our country a great deal and WE BELEIVE this has to get out so everyone can make a sound decision on their own.

Here are the differences:

2008 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE COMPARISON:

You can verify the above at following web sites:

http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/election/2008/index.html
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/issues/issues.taxes.html

http://elections.foxnews.com/?s=proposed+taxes

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/candidates/barack_obama/
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/candidates/john_mccain/

IT JUST SEEMS THAT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA WANTS TO CHANGED THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT WE HAVE TO A SOCIALISTS ONE (RE-DISTRUBUTION OF WEALTH) AND STRIP AWAY OUR FREE ENTERPRISE (CAPTIALISTS) CURRENT FORM OF GOVERNMENT. THIS IS A SCARY THING AND THAT IS WHY WE FEEL THE NEED TO SEND THIS.

IF YOU FEEL THIS INFORMATION IS IMPORTANT PLEASE SEND IT TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE... THESE ARE THE FACTS, NO ATTACKS, BUT THE TRUTH... MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY...

PLEASE GO VOTE !!! SEARCH YOUR HEART AND YOUR GOD !!! PLEASE GO VOTE !!!

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I tried to explain to the sender that politics aren't this black and white (yes or no) and often the McCain campaign uses Obama's voting record on various bills to manipulate the truth on what Obama actually stands for. But then i read more through this email and saw how this so called "non partisan" chart was critizing Obama on issues but not McCain and finishes off with calling him "hussien" and I worte her back and said "Stop sending me racist bullshit emails"

5. Tell this ass with the "facts"
that if he can't even spell the candidate's name correctly on the main column that his "facts" can't be trusted.

2. Not to mention wrong on many of the "facts"
Starting with time served in the Senate. If McCain has been there 22 years, then Barack has been there 2 years.

BTW, what does McCain have to show for his lengthy service in the Senate? 22 years sort of makes him the ultimate "Washington power elite" doesn't it?

4. Obama campaign requests that you forward
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 02:46 AM by wiseoldman
such e-mails to them at watchdog@barackobama.com (edit email address)... tks Badger

This is their request:

Dear Friend,

Thank you for joining the fight against the lies, false attacks, and smear campaigns targeting Barack Obama and designed to create fear and division at a time that calls for unity and solutions. No one of us can put an end to these attacks, but together we can set the record straight.

We've received the message you sent and will evaluate it to inform the campaign's pushback strategy to this growing problem. Please continue to send us each smear you receive -- even if you receive the same one multiple times from different sources.

When possible, please forward messages just as they came to you, without changing the subject or sending the message as an attachment. And feel free to include your friends and family on the message you send us -- if we've developed a response already, we'll send it to everyone you included.

If you haven't already, it's important that you provide the truth to whoever passed along the smear that you reported. Refer to http://www.FightTheSmears.com to get the facts you need in order to fight back on a wide variety of smears.

8. Regarding that email...
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 02:48 AM by SurferBoy
1.) Why is the guy bringing his two young kids into the mix? 6 and 4 year olds can't vote and likely won't even understand the issues.

2.) Any email that uses "Barack Hussein Obama" should automatically send up a red flag as a trojan horse. Not in the computer virus version, but one that appears to be thoughtful in nature, but is actually a masked attack at Obama.

3.) Evidently, pro-McCain emails are written by people who failed basic English spelling and grammar.

"... WE BELEIVE ..."

"... WANTS TO CHANGED THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT ..."

"... RE-DISTRUBUTION OF ..."

"... FREE ENTERPRISE (CAPTIALISTS) ..."

12. If he and his wife both have college degrees,
who taught them to be such utter failures at grammar, spelling and logic?

9. All of the tax information has been completely debunked by snopes.com
Here is the link:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/taxes.asp

Furthermore, none of the sender's "sources" appear to back up ANY of his claims. Conversely the snopes source deals specifically with every single claim made about Obama's tax plans. The claims are all false.

11. Thanks for the links, I'm going to reply back with the correct info.
Not that it will matter, some people are just unwilling to look past obvious lies in order to ensure their party wins.

13. If those initiating and forwarding these emails would just use....
SPELL CHECK, it wouldn't be so obvious that they are right-wingers!

Whenever an email comes through that is political in nature, I only have to glance over it, find a spelling error or two, and know it's bullshit.

I especially enjoy it when they misspell Barack's name.

Oy.

14. I got something like this last week
One of the moms on my daughter's soccer team sent it out about 75 people, along with the picture of Barack Obama wearing the tribal outfit in Kenya as "proof that he is an arab muslim". I replied to all thoroughly debunking each lie and providing accurate documentation to each point. Along comes Saturday and the soccer game, where I learned that I am now the outcast parent. It seems that the consensus is that it was rude of ME to send them all an email with my opinion - the "proper" thing to do, since I didn't agree with her, would have been to simply delete her email.

No big deal - that's what I get for moving to this redneck heaven that I now call home.
