GOP officials noted that most of the party stands strongly behind the Iraq mission. But signs of dissent are emerging. One voice is familiar: Pat Buchanan, the commentator who challenged the first President Bush from the right in 1992, making him more vulnerable to Bill Clinton. With this President Bush, Mr. Buchanan's weapon of choice is a new book titled Where The Right Went Wrong (Thomas Dunne Books; $24.95). Calling the Iraq invasion a mistake that exposes the United States to even more terrorism, Mr. Buchanan wrote, "We won the war in three weeks – and we may have lost the Islamic world for a generation."

When worlds collide
The shock! I agree with Buchanan

In an effort to be fair and balanced, I admit that conservatives aren't always wrong about everything. Once in a rare while, even a conservative can get something right. Take Pat Buchanan. Yes, for the last seven years - on radio and television, on CNN and MSNBC, in front of countless public audiences - Buchanan and I have made a living by disagreeing with each other. Usually, but not always, civilly. He and I each have strong opinions. He's a conservative, I'm a liberal, and never the twain shall meet.

Or so I thought. Until I picked up Pat's latest book. It's called "How the Right Went Wrong." And it's a blistering criticism of the policies of George W. Bush. You think I'm hard on Bush? Read Pat's book. He's so tough on Bush I almost felt sorry for the guy, even though I'd never vote for him. <snip>

Buchanan's book lambastes Bush for Iraq invasion
By David D. Kirkpatrick, The New York Times

Pat Buchanan, the conservative commentator whose Republican primary challenge and divisive convention speech weakened the first President Bush's campaign for re-election in 1992, published a book excoriating the second President Bush over the invasion of Iraq. Calling the invasion of Iraq "the greatest strategic blunder in 40 years, a mistake more costly than Vietnam," Buchanan writes, "If prudence is the mark of a conservative, Bush has ceased to be a conservative."

3. I just watched him "blast" Bush
Didnt know if he would vote for "Bush" or that conservative "3rd party" .. also said he would rather Iraq own Kuwait than Iran.

He is a nut case.
