So what the hell is has gone wrong with Kerry's campaign?
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 07:26 PM by battleknight24
Several months ago, I thought Bush would have his back against the wall by September while Kerry would be hustling to increase is lead in the polls...

Lets all be honest guys... Bush has had lots of f*ck ups in his term as President... and the Kerry/Edwards ticket could and should be doing a lot better.

Why are the polls the way they are right now?

Peace,

16. If you trust a poll that is associated with a right wing corporation,
you're going to get a right wing poll result. Know your poll taker. Many name brand pollsters are associated with name brand slime slinging corporate propganda networks, magazines, or papers.

You expect them not to skew the results?

Just, ignore them.

What is more important is the authenticity of the apparatus that counts your vote. No matter what the polls, if the right wing rigs the machines, they'll win. Put your energy there.

5. Kerry had a nightmarish August, no question
but he's not trailing by anything close to 11 points.

7. It's not the Kerry campaign's fault that the media is on their knees
for the Bush administration. Kerry can't get his message out. The media swallowed the Swift Boat Liars crap, which primed them for the RNC convention and they are now rallying around their boy Bush again.

13. I happen to agree with Jezebel
there's nothing wrong with the campaign per say, only in the media's REPORTING of it.Listen to Air America radio news to hear what or how our side is retracting every single lie and fuck up by the Bush administration. Here's one example;where is the reporting about such a small bump up for the republicans after THEIR hate-fest(convention)?Remember all the pundits saying "well Kerry only got a 2 point boost after all of the democratic party's efforts".Why don't we hear any of that?Boomp boomp boomp boomp...what's that you ask?that's the sound of the so-called-liberal-media once again dropping the ball

9. With the media "Gore"-ing him 24/7, what do you expect?
The corporate press is going to hammer Kerry all day and all night and prop up Bush, JUST LIKE IN 2000.

We have to work hard in our local counties, get out our checkbooks, and try to battle the effects of the duo of the corporate media and BushCo.

10. Could it be that Kerry was supposed to run a strong race but lose?
That would leave the country polarized and vulnerable to a cabal to control our government behind a facade of electoral legitimacy.

11. Why do so many think that bush will be clobbered easily?
I know that he doesn't have anything to run on, but the repubs are masters of spin and BS. Combine that with biased mainstream media and you've got a challenging foe. Too many just accept what they see on CNN as the truth.

14. here is why
kerry is doing "so bad" in polls.

reason #1: the media only shows the polls he does bad in. he was far behind in newsweek and time polls, and they were thus the ONLY polls talked about in corperate media.

reason #2: these polls are only among "likely voters." that means they only poll people who have voted in the past. so they don't include any youth, or the massive movement of people who haven't voted who plan to vote for kerry.

17. You thought this would be easy, huh?
You thought that beating the "war president" who raised THE MOST CAMPAIGN MONEY EVER would be a slam dunk? Nope, rejected.

This one is coming down to the wire. There's a lot of time for October surprises, tho. Lower your expectations and get your butt over to the Kerry campaign HQ to volunteer. Do something.

This victory is going to come from the grass-roots up.

19. It's getting better as we speak.
You can see the improvement already. Just today there are lots of "Kerry attacks Bush" headlines, and Edwards had a cut-throat comeback to Cheney's reckless "terrorists will win if you don't vote for the 'right candidate'" comment.

Take a deep breath. Things are looking much better this week.
