3. And continue this level of political discourse
where the candidates' plans for the future take a back seat to what happened 30 years ago? We can do better than that.

4. Kerry took his lumps, now it's George's turn
We aren't playing by his rules anymore. Besides, he's guilty. This country CANNOT have an AWOL commander in chief. It simply CANNOT.

6. Certainly we cannot have a negligent commander who dispatches our forces
under changing rationales and then continues to support the PATRIOT ACTs, then decides to pointlessly attack the gay community... I mean, I'm more worried about what he plans to do in the next 4 years if he wins the election than what he did in Alabama 30 years ago. Call me what you will but I find this no better than what the Swiftboaters were doing, even though that must be the point, given it's called "Texans for Truth."

7. I'm sick of these guys sucker-punching us before the bell rings
Edited on Tue Sep-07-04 11:24 PM by rocknation
and then saying, "It really isn't nice to fight, you know--let's go home." They did the exact same thing with the 11-point bounce story AND Cheney's "vote for us or die" remarks. The media ran with it, reality set in, the media lost interest, and they retreated unscathed with their damage done. That's what I mean by not playing by their rules anymore: they'll be less likely to do that if they know they'll get sucker-punched back.

Whereas the Smear-Boaters sailed on lies, gossip and grudges, the AWOL issue has actual evidence. More important, it speaks to both Bush's character and his fitness to serve as commander in chief. Kerry could even make the case that George's incomplete service might be the reason why he's made so many military mistakes. This is one time that taking the high road definitely won't work. If the Kerry camp doesn't want to put Bush's military record under a microscope, then the matter should be turned over to the court of public opinion. Stay the course, Texans for Truth!

8. Just remember. The TRUTH is protected speech--smearboaters were LYING.
The TRUTH or an OPINION is protected speech under the 1st Amendment.

The LIES that the Smearboaters spread about Kerry was trash, and LIES are NOT protected by the 1st Amendment.

So anyone who tells you that the Smearboaters had a "right" to say what they said is wrong.

Vets telling the TRUTH is okay legally.
Vets telling LIES is not okay legally.

The media likes to equate them, but they are NOT THE SAME.

Thanks for letting me rant.

9. I think it is a great idea, but
the commercial seems weak. They can just play it off as one guy with a grudge. We need some more credible faces on the screen.

11. This administration reminds me of my first husband
They throw out the insults, the lies, the misleading info and when you even attempt to respond, they say oh, lets get over it, lets stop the fighting now.
Their side is heard loud and clear. We are wild-eyed and over sensitive. Jerks.
