Fox's Shepard Smith DEFENDS Obama to Joe T. Plumber
Miracles can happen!

http://www.politico.com/blogs/michaelcalderone/1008/Foxs_Smith_defends_Obama_on_Israel.html

The Obama campaign may think they never get a fair shake on Fox, but Shep Smith didn't let inaccurate statements go by yesterday on-air.

Smith questioned Joe the Plumber on his foreign policy views after for the prominent McCain supporter agreed with a fellow supporter that "a vote for Obama is a vote for death to Israel."

After hearing Joe's position -- despite admitting to not being a foreign policy expert, but someone who knows "just enough to be dangerous" -- Smith shot down the guy who's become a staple of McCain's stump speech.

"I just want to make this 100 percent perfectly clear, Barack Obama has said repeatedly and demonstrated repeatedly that Israel will always be a friend of the United States, no matter what happens once he becomes President of the United States. His words."

Seeming perplexed by Joe's rationale, Smith continued: "The rest of it -- man, some things -- it just gets frightening sometimes."

1. "Obama hates Israel" must've been #1 on the RNC blast fax today.

Seems to be the most popular talking point anyway.

Maybe Smith didn't get the memo?

4. Yeah, Shep Smith actually tries to be neutral
he's probably the best I've seen on Fox, although I don't watch enough to really know.

9. Wasn't he pretty vocal during Katrina fiasco?
As far as slamming the Bushies I mean. I'm surprised he is still there on Faux.

20. Yeah, I'm usually okay with Smith.
I don't usually agree with him, but he's a conservative with principles.

6. During Katrina, Shep blasted Bush for his slow response.
Maybe there is a decent person hiding under all of that faux crap.

They are shameless and clueless.

11. Shep is the fairest one on Faux.
He's really improved after Katrina struck his beloved MS. He's pretty pointed in critisizing the cabal and the FEMA response.

17. I remember that. He was in New Orleans, reporting, right after the flooding
and some total tool in the studio (was it Hume?) kept trying to direct the spin, first to say that it wasn't so bad, and then to direct blame away from the Republicans. Shep actually wanted none of it. He basically said: "No. It is very bad here" and told the story like it was.

12. JTP is evil
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 03:59 PM by EastTennesseeDem
I know he masks it with laid back rhetoric, so that when he tells a lie and you call him out on it, you look like the villain. But the man is vile, evil, Repuke scum.

And I also gotta give props to Shep Smith. Helluva job.

16. I agree with you completely.
I wish the MSM had dragged JTP's name through the mud more than they did and that ALL of his secrets and dirt were out to be poked and gawked at. He is the ultimate faker and one of the most despicable people to come-along in the McCain campaign. He pretends to be this benign, even-tempered, rational common person when in reality he masks his nefarious intentions.... I wish him nothing but the worst.
