Softball for Kerry: Bush wants only two debates
'The President has said many times he looks forward to a debate on the issues with me. Now it is clear that rather than looking forward to such a debate, he fears it.'

1. He won't say it
He will do like most of our democrats. Bow to what the repukes want and say. He'll let Chimpy dictate how many debates, the format and place for the debates. I'm so sick of this crap

10. If Kerry shows up by himself, though
Nader will bail his friend Bush out, and instead of showing Bush's reaction on the networks Nader will get tons of free airtime to blast Kerry and Democrats' "dirty tricks." But Kerry could counter this by saying Nader can join for this one debate if Michael Peroutka or Michael Badnarik is also present.

13. The only problem with this, though...
...is that it gives some smirking freeper fucks an opening to "joke" that Kerry can debate himself, since they love to lie about him having multiple positions on the issues.

15. Kerry should insist that if Bush* is unable/unwilling to debate, Kerry
would debate a surrogate. (Can you imagine how bad that would make Bush* look?)

5. Damn. For a minute there I thought Kerry actually said this.
Don't know why he won't. It's a perfectly reasonable statement.

7. Bush* is being VERY generous
After all, talking about his accomplishments couldn't possibly take any longer than one debate, if that.

9. the problem with that is that it lowers expectations for Bush
a better thing to say is that Bush is a great debator and has won all of them so to be fair Kerry should be given more than 2 debates to get his side out.

11. "And I want 9/11 to have never have happened
but Mr. President we can'r always get what we want.
Now, BE A F'ING MAN and debate Kerry every week until the election.

How the hell are you suppose to make us feel safe from terrorist if you don't have the courage to stand behind a podium and answer questions for the american public?"

That's what I'd be saying if I were with the Kerry campaign. :)

14. They're playing the odds
Three debates = Bush has to win two out of three, very bad for him.

One debate = Too risky, Bush could lose one - nil.

Two debates = Best chance for Bush, he only needs to be perceived as equal in one of the two. The press will fall all over themselves saying Bush held his own. Tie goes to Bush due to diminished expectations, as long as he doesn't throw up or pick his nose.

19. Wow. Is Dubya good at not showing up for stuff, or what???
First his National Guard service, now the 3rd debate.

On his high-school aptitude test, I'll bet he wrote down "taking a powder" under special skills.

Oops! I said "taking a powder." Freudian slip.

21. Not letting the people compare shows a profound disdain for them
Ram it down his lying little throat: it's an insult to the entire nation to duck out of his responsibility to make his case sincerely to the people. If he relies on others around supporting him, then what good is he as a President?

People who don't respect the sanctity of democratic elections don't respect the people. Besides, it's not like he doesn't have the time; all he ever does is raise money and go on vacation.
