Kerry 264 bush 222. Looks like the bush post-convention bounce just fell flat.

1. Well
if Bush gets all the dead even states he would have 274. I'm not being a doomsayer, but the race still looks dead even to me and I fear a replay of 2000 may occur.

2. If Kerry wins
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 07:26 AM by NYC Liberal
the states that are Barely Blue plus Nevada and WV, then he gets 274. So even if Bush gets Ohio and every other dead-even state, Kerry still wins:

4. If he doesn't get WV and only gets NV it's a tie.
And I don't think WV is looking good.

8. yeah WV is going hard Bush 49%, 40% from Zogby
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 07:47 AM by gasperc
Colorado looks like a better bet and Bush is working WI, IA and MN hard. If he picks one of those fuckers off we have to take VA,FL or MO. I like MO more than FL, although Graham lifted my spirits yesterday when watching Hannity and Colmes last night. He got some good points in and really made Hannity squirm when he said he thinks Kerry will win FL and with alot better margin than Gore DID!! get it Gore DID!! he told Hannity Gore won FL, ha ha ha

24. nj vote
to ask such a question you must not live in NJ.

The democratic party and the republican party are virtually the same in NJ

nothing is cheap in NJ just ask corzine, ( except gas and we almost lost that one) Its just something has to change,
NJ is the third wealthiest state in the country, has about a 4% unemployment rate, you pretty much have to be born rich to live here or like spending every dime you make just to get by

5. Other good news...
"Log Cabin" Repubs have said they won't endorse Bush in 04- and they claim there's 45,000 in Florida who voted for Bush in 2000 who're gay...

I predict NV and CO will go our way...

This is good. very good.

6. Sorry, Not going to panic
Still a lot of "Politicin'" between now and Nov.

Debates (2 or 3 a sub issue)

Bush's "War Record" Vs Kerry's

Joe and John's 9/11 bill (Bush's reaction to that)

Economy (next few months of jobs number)

ETC.

I still think the outcome will surprise us (pleasantly I hope)

9. What the hell is going on in Ohio?
It's now "strong Bush"??
Everyone in the Buckeye State needs to put down their glasses of Kool-Aid and slowly walk away.

10. shit shit shit!
OHIO!!! Now it's strong *?????? CRAP! You know, call me fucking loopy, but I just dont get it. I saw a piece on CNN about Ohio, where these poor people have lost everything, I mean their homes, their cars, their health ins. they're on food lines, they're DESTITUTE, and this state is now STRONG *???

NO repug has ever won an election without OHIO, it's a HUGE cog in the wheel. That's fucking upsetting.

12. If they have no homes, cars, etc.How are they polled? Yet they'll vote.
And if you think THOSE voters are * supporters, you're nuts (or at least are a might off the mark when it comes to web surfing) :D

21. what does web surfing have to do with it?
and I wasnt inferring THOSE people are * supporters, they obviously are NOT, but it would appear to me, from all Ive been presented, that Ohio is in pretty bad shape, and it's simply shocking to me it would be strong * now.

16. Gore won in 2000 without Ohio. So calm down. Besides, this may
be all convention bounce which will dissipate in the next week or so. People also need to pay more attention to the margin of error. If there is an 11 point difference and the margin of error is 4 points, that means that the difference could be as small as 3 points (or as large as 19 points but I hope no one believes that).

i say that this fellow was leading us all on, gaining our trust thru the early part of the campaign, and now he's coming up with Time/Newsweek numbers to crush our spitits and lay us low.

Not me, pal. I just don't and son't believe it.

22. No, This Guy's Legit
He only reports the most recent polls... he doesn't do any polls of his own. These are all composites of other polls: Zogby, Rasmussen, Gallup, etc.

Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 08:25 AM by yellowcanine
won't even be close, that "barely Kerry" is based on one poll - remember when California went into the "barely" column a couple of weeks back.

18. Ohio is the only thing that bugs me on this
Ohio has been hit hard with 200k job losses since 2001 and it looks like it will go to bush. How can people be so completely stupid.

19. Read "What's the Matter with Kansas?" by Thomas Frank
Apparently, what's wrong with Kansas seems wrong with Ohio too.

Basically, Frank examines why so many Americans vote against their economic and social interests and how a "group of frat boys, lawyers, and CEOs has managed to convince the world that it speaks on behalf of the common people."

Arkansas and Nevada will be in the Democratic column. I think we'll win Florida too. New Jersey won't be close and Ohio will be closer.

23. Looks like we'll take NH. If we can take MO and defend WI chimp can keep
OH, FL, WV, AR, and AZ. MO is tied and we're up 6 in WI.

Given the jobs situation in WI,PA, and NJ we ought to keep those states with votes to spare. All we have to do to win the whole shooting match is get one more vote than chimp in MO.
