It Was Too Good to be True...PPP WV Poll: McCain 55(+5), Obama 42(unchanged)

http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2008/10/west-virginia-results.html

Obama only leads Dems 65-31, while Mccain gets 90% of Republicans and 53% of Indies.

Tom Jensen of PPP did say that the other polls to be released over the next few days will not be this bad.

19. An email from Obama is encouraging us to donate as RNC has 20 million more than Obama and WV and
Montana they are concerned about as the RNC is going heavy in those states. I think Obama wants as many red states to turn blue and they need to money to accomplish this as the voting machines are corrupt and I think they want as much votes and cushions as possible to win this. We need to keep helping with money and volunteering until this is over.

3. OK, seriously, what's with finding the crap polls and repeatedly
posting them in separate threads? I'm going to ask the mods to look into the next one. It's getting a little too obvious.

7. I've just read no less than six posts in the last 10 min
that are all seemingly bullshit or outlier poll posts -- all negative -- why post them? Why not put it in one thread and keep kicking it:

"Today's (And Some From A Month Ago) Outlier and Irrelevant Negative Polls."

15. "Fewer", you read no fewer than six posts. "Less" is the wrong word. And, I'm
going to talk to the mods about this.

16. Your "style over substance" fallacy is boring
Geez, this place has changed. Few posts with substance, few flames with substance...

She/he posts a lot of great stuff. Sometimes sad things have to be posted too...

Besides, it isn't like losing WV is a big deal. We are still taking this in a landslide. Few ever SERIOUSLY thought we'd win WV.

8. These cletuses have arguably been fucked over worse than anyone over the past 8 years
And they're ready to bend over and spread 'em for four more years. I'm sorry but they deserve whatever they get. Unfortunately the rest of us don't deserve what they want so desperately.

10. West Va

Is a joke....hllbillies and rednecks...im glad BO didn't spend any significant number in that cesspool. It's a dumb state, backed by low education achievement and poor higher institutions.

that I have ever heard from a DUer. I'm a West Virginian; my roots in this state go back to the 1750s. Somehow I am not surprised that you are a Virginian. There are Virginians that are just as ill-educated and low-achieving as you make us out to be, but we don't have the FFV, so we're just the low-rent next-door neighbors.

Let me remind you of one of those ill-educated West Virginians. Cornelius Sale, Jr.'s mother died when he was a year old, so he was farmed out to an aunt and uncle in the coalfields of southern West Virginia. He went part-time to four different colleges before he graduated, working as a grocery store clerk, butcher and gas-station attendant. He eventually got into politics, serving as a member of the House of Delegates and the WV State Senate, before going to Washington. He spent ten years going to night classes (while serving as a Congressman and as a Senator) before he earned his law degree. And he has become an expert on the US Constitution and a published historian of the US Senate.

Of course, by now you should realize that I'm talking about Senator Robert Byrd. You know, the Senator who made the impassioned speeches begging his fellow senators to vote against the Iraq War resolution. What did your senators do? Oh, yeah, they were Republicans. Virginia has voted steadily for Republicans since the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.

So get off your high horse! West Virginia is one of the most Democratic states in the country.

ETA: West Virginia University has produced 25 Rhodes Scholars. How many Rhodes Scholars come from the publicly-financed colleges and universities of Virginia?
