I was 13 and was pretty badly bullied. I was in the bathroom crying, and my mom sat me down and we talked.

My mom is a loud, in your face, you better pray to whatever god you believe in that she doesn't get mad at you, italian.

But rather than go to their parents and start a tirade she said to me, "The best revenge is to live a good life."

That has stuck with me for the last 19 years - and it's true. If Obama can do it - If he can grow jobs, provide a better school and healthcare system. It will be a much more destructive strike against the republicans than any posturing/gloating.

Especially if he is able to do it with the help of other republicans.

What better way to defeat an enemy than to turn them into a friend?

7. I don't see Obama as being out for revenge or being vindictive.

I see him as a president who will do what he needs to do to get the job done and he will be inclusive in reaching out to others, including Republicans, to succeed. Many here at DU will be pissed at Obama when he does not jump through their hoops and do their bidding or to claim a pound of flesh from Republicans.

As Obama said in his keynote speech at the Democratic convention in 2004:

Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America.

I don't know what part of that is difficult to understand. Obama will the president of everyone and not a Liberal Avenger for 8 years of Bush and people here will not be happy about that.

Success is its own reward and this country will be better for it, as well as millions of Americans. With it Obama will easily win a second term.
