5. McCain will not will Maine, he only has a (small) chance in one district.
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 06:22 AM by Schulzz
But I understand your point. Kerry states + IA + NM + CO or VA = win...

13. Obama is up by about 19 points in Maine
McCain today cancelled a trip here for the weekend. Maine's 4 EVs will go to Obama.

6. Wow
That's one uphill climb McCain has.

New Hampshire and Maine are polling crazy high for Obama. It would be VERY unlikely for him to lose those two states.

17. Doesn't Maine (or NH) have split electoral votes
Based on who wins which congressional district? Doesn't that complicate the map somewhat?

27. So he should sweep Maine?
My fear is that it is within a point or two and McCain gets one or two of the Maine districts. But right now I'm just all broken out in hives about this race anyway! :)

31. It should be a sweep!
The GOTV effort in the state is phenomenal on our part. Totally unprecedented. It will carry Obama to win all our EVs.

34. I'm very nervous too
But I love seeing what the volunteers are doing around Maine and the effort the campaigns are putting into GOTV. I feel confident we're doing all we can.

But, unless one is running unoppossed, being nervous is a good thing.

18. where's the link to that so we can ALL play with the map that way. McCain isn't winning all those.
I'm not sure what the point was of your thread. ANyone can go to that site and make any state they want RED or blue.... your supposition goes against polling, and even if he won all those states, he'd still lose.

Why is this such a difficult concept?

It was a fun exercise for the O/P!
