This IS, after all Kansas, But......
I am retired but work 4 hours a day at the local school as a technical assistant. Yesterday I was at the elementary school building during lunch. Standing in the hallway with a custodian, we were watching the lunch area with scores of young people at lunch. The custodian remarked "I sure do hope the American people get this election right for the sake of these young people's future." I told him I heartily agreed but that I suspected we were speaking from opposite sides of the issue, whereupon he told me his fervent belief was that the best thing that could happen was for McCain to win and expire immediately after being inaugurated so Sarah could be president.

1. LOL! You had no idea how far apart you two were.
I honestly cannot understand why anyone would want this country being run by a babbling idiot, and after eight years of that, end up supporting Palin.

6. I thought my response was measured and well reasoned..
I told him that after what the last three republican administrations had done to us if the republicans had even a shred of conscience left, there would be no candidates even fielded this year. Then noted that Palin was incapable of pouring P*** from a boot with instructions written on heel. I usually control myself better. As I said, This IS Kansas!

2. "Yeah, then maybe we can socialize the profits from Kansas wheat the same way SP socialized the
profits from Alaskan oil."

5. I voted in Kansas yesterday
The lines in Kansas City, KS this week have been very long according to the social worker standing behind me. It was her forth day observing them and she finally took time off from work to vote since she will be working the polls on Tuesday in my precinct about 10 miles west of the new election office where we voted. We made it through in about two hours and it was very efficient. They were all ages from young to elderly handicapped who were let in immediately. Many people came by to turn in their absentee ballots. The demographics were 99% African American and everyone was patient and in a good mood. One surprise for me was when I got inside the building, my daughter was in line also. LOL

4. This was the custodian?
How sad... The people in this country who would benefit the most from Obama's plans are often too simple to realize it.

I never understand how lower income people could be Republican. It's always a shock, almost a joke to me, to see a Republican sticker on a beat up, late model, inexpensive car.

Republicans have done an excellent job swaying the gullible....

7. It's the churches who are doing the "swaying".
When you don't have much else, being "righteous" is very satisfying and quite renumerative to the pastor and his/her clique.
