DU is responding well overall, but I have noticed a slowdown already.

9. I've noticed that it takes a few seconds for DU to load after a post.

13. I had the problem earlier. Happened periodically for about an hour.

I don't know if it's my provider or DU. I could get to the main pages, but everytime I tried to read a post the page wouldn't come up. Like you, all other sites worked fine.

I shudder to think what election night will be like. If we could avoid the single post chat threads it might help. It will be interesting and I hope DU does not simply shut down.

11. Slow is an understatement, this is so bad I'll have a stroke next

week. Can the Admins take an unusual step of closing some of the other groups and forums for the next few days? Maybe that won't help but it is 3 days from E-day and we're this funereal already. Someone come up with something creative or I'll go nuts! All you kind folks in the Computer group, any suggestions for the bosses?

12. I think they should preemptively kick in a high defcon level.

I can live without signatures and some other features. Elad knows more about this, but I imagine that once DU slows down, it's tough to adjust the defcon levels. They should just change it in advance.
