That's the meme on the debates. Spread it far and wide!

1. The master-debater
Defeater of Richards (?) and Gore in debates, afraid of questions from ordinary Americans.

2. Yes he is - can't be in an uncontrolled situation
When are people going to wake up to this sham?

The election is about character and leadership. This goofus has neither. He is an imposter and too scared to face real people. He can only speak to those who worship him.

4. I like the idea of Kerry debating Bush in abstentia
If Bush doesn't want to show up, just put a TV monitor in his chair and let Kerry debate statements that Bush has said.

6. Great idea and they should put a stuffed chicken
in Bush's place with a big "W" around its neck.

13. Don't even debate him, simply show up and answer the questions
posed by the undecided voters.

There is no need for Bush to be there, and it would be a BIG TIME plus for the Kerry campaign to still show up and answer the questions!

11. I don't see what the big deal is for him
If people can only ask issue questions and don't get a follow up(which is how I remember it going last time) then how is it that much different from the other debates?

12. He's scared and petrified!
absolutely PETRIFIED! The same way he was after he was told on September 11th that America is under attack. He was frozen. Unable to move, to take any action at all.

The most telling thing about that date is that the rest of his administration didn't seem to care very much at all what W was up to. It was Dick Cheney that the Secret Service rushed to and grabbed under his arms to rush him to a bunker somewhere.

It wasn't important to them what W had to say or do. They clearly didn't think there was much of importance that he could contribute, so they left him with the elementary school children where he would be out of the way and unlikely to cause any more damage.

15. I'll say it again- don't lower *'s expectations!
Gallup selects the panel of undecided voters- no way in hell are they going to be non-partisan.

If Bush is ultimately pressured into doing this debate, he will come out smelling like a rose: "Underdog President Triumphs in Town Hall Format" is going to be the headline.

Be VERY, VERY CAREFUL what you wish for.

16. Amazing
That the spin coming from Bush’s talking heads suggests they are pulling out of one debate because some of the people in the audience could be “partisan” having posed as undecided.

What these cretins don’t tell us is that John Kerry would be playing on the exact same field. Just as Democrats could pose and “setup” Bush so to could Republicans do so to Kerry.

That’s what we will never know, but one party is not any more prone to another party from trying to take a certain advantage.

In the end, the real question begets is that are you scared of dissent? Are you MAN enough to handle the likelihood (however minimal) that someone would pose a question to you that you did not want or expect.

Holy cow they can pull this off. Kerry should say that he is also under the likelihood of “partisan” attacks from his opponents YET HE LOOKS FORWARD to the opportunity to engage these people in discussion if they do happen to infiltrate the debates.

It would just be another sign of evidence that Bush is simply a pussy.

17. Kerry should make it very
clear that he intends to show up at all three debates. The little chicken-shit will either come around or face being humiliated with an empty chair. No Pres. candidate should be able to escape questions asked directly by the voting public. And while it's fine to have undecideds, I think there ought to be some partisan Dems and Repukes in the mix to keep things lively.

And, no matter how piss poor the chimp's performance is,the whores are still going to lie their asses off about how great it was. So, what the hell is he afraid of?

18. I never believed they would ever let him debate.
Hell, they never let him talk. They only let him attempt to read.

I would love to hear bush debate Kerry. Unfortunately, I believe we all know that it will never happen
