That was a Kerry sign.

Now, in Alabama, it's been up for four days, with no problems.

And it's a black guy!

:D

1. You are lucky,
I've completely burned through my sign supplies, because the local Repuke sign thieves are relentless.

2. I volunteer at the Democratic office on Thursdays,

and a young man about 19 or 20 came in and got some Obama bumper stickers. He said he and his sister were going to steal McPalin signs on Halloween. I didn't encourage him and told him to be careful since some people have been shot for doing this.

So I figured our Obama yard sign would disappear on Halloween. But it's still there. My neighbor had all three of her signs stolen, but they haven't touched ours. I wonder why?

I have to add a reverse yard sign theft. My neocon, bush-loving, McPalin voting, millionaire doctor, brother-in-law found an Obama yard sign in his front yard last Thursday morning. He had a fit.

3. Has stealing yard signs ever stopped people from voting for anyone on the
Signs stolen? To be honest it just shows how stupid and childish puke supporters are, to think that in todays world signs decide elections. I can honestly say that I never drove past a yard sign and said to myself, "hey nice yard, oh look theres a sign, well damn it, that makes up my mind, if a person that has this nice of a yard, then the guy on the sign is the one I'm voting for because this guy has a nice lawn".

It always amazes me that grown people stoop to the stupidest stunts to show the world how stupid they are. Joe has a lot of people just like him doesn't he.

7. I have had mine up for a week
I had 3 Obama signs, but am down to 1... not due to theft but sharing them with neighbors! I see more Obama signs then I ever saw Kerry signs...

Realistically, what do you think the spread in Alabama will be? I want to believe we can go blue, but I would be happy if we make the frighty righties sweat...

12. spread... I'm stumped
On one hand, I think the excitement among African-Americans, and liberals in general, could generate an actual sweep of the south. On the other hand, I don't know. If we lose the state again, I still think it is likely to be closer than in the recent past. I'm definitely hoping for an upset though! :hi:

14. I was at the Tuscaloosa office yesterday
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 08:17 AM by Mhegwood3
There were about a dozen people there of all ages, races, etc. - doing the poll watcher info class (I use the term loosely as it was more of a short lecture).

There was a DUer sitting next to me (a reader only- no name provided) who recognized my name; an attorney donating her time (If you are reading- thank you!)

I almost didn't make it- this has been a weekend of personal stuff (I had to say good bye to one of my four legged friends on Saturday and take my brother/ roommate to the hospital on Sunday- get this; he is worried about being able to vote and we worked out a DCH escape plan!)

There was authoritative excitement in the room... you could tell that they believe it is possible to turn blue (although they did not say that- we need to keep the enthusiasm at it's peak for another few days!)

I also saw a local merchant in there who I will send as much business as possible...

There were several young adults (under 30) and several folks who seemed to be in the 55+ category.

I personally think it will be a close race (maybe because I believe in my heart it is the best thing for us all) and that the choice lies in the hands of first time voters.

I remain hopeful.

Edited because my typos were horrible........

8. Sign Theft...Fail
I got a new Obama - Biden sign yesterday when I picked up my Voter Protection packet from the local Obama office. This morning it was gone, but they didn't touch the other Obama sign in my yard. Turn out they buried my new sign under a whole bunch of leaves. Was this the work of a lazy thief?
