So does anybody else think the lid is about to blow off Bushco?
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 03:35 PM by Walt Starr
The media whores are pulling double fellatio duty starting last night and moving into today.

The GOP is spinning more than a gyroscope.

Everybody involved in the Bush campaign is in full blown attack mode on anything and everybody, including a poor MSNBC reporter who asked a question about whether Bush agreed with Cheney's "Vote Bush Or DIE!" statment.

Methinks they are coming unhinged.

15. Yes, something is about to happen but nothing will
I get the feeling we will definitely see a lot of juicy developments in the next month and we will revel in the knowledge that the idiot king is truly the cowardly, stupid piece of shit we know he is.

Then, with a careful manipulation coordinated between the Bushies and the mainstream media, these stories will die quiet, slow deaths because they are not very titillating to a public which gets all its information from Fox Network.

So in a nutshell, yes, a lid will be blown off but the problem is, will anyone care enough to peer in?

40. The media are sharks
and blood is spilling in the water. They must smell it. It will take great pressure for the sharks to not strike on this one.

This is the true test of the power Karl Rove has over the media. If this is buried, democracy is completely and totally dead.

Sharks must feed, and a frenzy has built up. We'll see how this goes.

30. Hey Walt - I do!!!!!!!!!

I've been posting the "death by 1000 cuts" theory for several days here, and even though the threads sink like stones I think it's true.

Every day I watch something happen, first from this broadside, then that, then over here, then over there. Kerry and his people are running Karls' playbook TO THE LETTER - so much stuff is coming at Chimpy that he doesn't know what fire to put out next.

He will blow - there is no question in my mind that he will - especially if challeneged on his "veracity" or his manhood. Just watch - the minute the term "coward" gets into this political lexicon his head will come off.

I'm sorry, but I think the Kerry campaign, after a horrific couple of weeks, is now working like a very nicely oiled machine.

...and harder and harder.

Bush cannot tolerate criticism. He will order his minions to shut reporters up by any means necessary and eventually it will backfire. You can only intimidate people for so long before there's a backlash.

It's up to us to keep the pressure on every day and as much as possible. Call, write a LTTE, blog, email and anything else to keep the buzz going about Bush's lies, gaffes, and his generally bad behavior. It will drive him crazy.

53. I think it's more a matter of keeping things as dirty as possible
because whomever wins, it's rolling around in the dirt that bumps up the ratings on the news shows. I'm having a downer week, but I know this, too shall pass -- still, I maintain that the news shows all want it to become a mud wrestling match because that's when they get their ratings, and I don't know if the journalists themselves genuinely care who ends up standing at the end of it.

The owners of the news organizations do care, but however much they attempt to interfere, it's the guys on the ground who determine the finer points of the coverage. And I really don't know that the majority of them care who wins, as long as they get their bonus checks come January.
