GOP effort to arrest Democratic voters FAILS
As you might remember, a GOP candidate in South Carolina - Steve Selby - threatened to arrest Democratic voters who might vote for his opponent in an open county council primary.

As Selby's GOP opponent supported the creation of a Martin Luther King holiday, the threat to arrest voters had a strong hint of racial intimidation.

Fortunately, it did not work.

Selby was defeated by 8 percentage points, thanks in part to massive turnout by African American voters.

Greenville County will likely vote to create an MLK holiday early next year.

6. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy
the Greenville News reported this weekend that Selby was being backed by a bunch of neo-Confederates that the Southern Poverty Law Center labeled as a hate group.
