If the deficit simply grew incrementally during Bush's second term...
he would leave office in 2008 with a deficit of $751,200,000,000.

Seven hundred fifty one billion and change (if you consider 200 million change).

Take the current reported figure: $422 billion

Take the figure The Washington Post (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1802&e=3&u=/washpost/20040908/ts_washpost/a2229_2004sep7) is projecting for 2014: $2.3 trillion

Split the difference, divide it by 10, multiply that by the four years in a second term, voila: $751,200,000,000.

Fuzzy math, to be sure, but not any fuzzier than the math used by John Snow when he frequently observes that the economy is "firing on all cylinders."

My guess is that he'd hit the first trillion, easily...especially when the first pair of boots hits Iranian soil.
