Dirty Politics In New Hampshire
(the bastards are desperate everywhere)

September 8, 2004

Dear Supporter,

Yesterday, our campaign discovered that someone has produced and mailed a fraudulent letter that solicits people to join "Independents for Lynch". This is a clear attempt to defraud the voters of New Hampshire – that uses John Lynch’s name and campaign logo, and forges his signature. The letter also falsely states that it was paid for by "John Lynch for New Hampshire."

This morning, we called on the New Hampshire Attorney General, the U.S. Attorney, and the U.S. Postal Inspector to conduct an immediate investigation into this fraudulent mailing.

The fraudulent letter, encouraging people to join "Independents for Lynch," included misrepresentations and out-and-out falsehoods about John’s positions on issues. It should not be confused with other mailings that you may receive from the campaign in the next few days.

If you, or anyone you know, have received this letter, please contact us immediately at 668-6600 or by emailing info@johnlynch04.com. Also please be on the lookout for any other suspicious behavior, including phone calls.

Kate Hanna, our campaign treasurer, said at a news conference today: "This letter is a complete fraud and the people of New Hampshire must be aware of that and aware that there are those willing to play the worst kind of dirty politics."

"I support John Lynch because he will restore integrity to the corner office. He offers leadership beyond reproach and a commitment to the highest ethical standards. This starts with the way that he conducts his campaign. With integrity. "I call upon others to follow John Lynch’s lead. To conduct this campaign with integrity, and to put New Hampshire first again."

In his letter to the Attorney General, the U.S. Attorney, and the U.S. Postal Inspector, Attorney John Malmberg said:

"A free and fair process in this critical election demands that this wrong be addressed and rectified. The only way to deter effectively those who would commit voter fraud is to expose their activities before the election."
It is clear that there are people who will stop at nothing to manipulate the election process. We need to re-double efforts to ensure that we restore integrity to the Governor’s Office in November. But we need your help – voting for John Lynch in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, September 14th and signing up to volunteer.

The people of New Hampshire can beat back dirty politics. Let’s prove it.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

John Lynch
